Finished a hack of a gamecube game but am having no success importing a custom banner image using GCReduilder. I always get "Wrong BMP" as an error, even when trying to inject the same banner I just exported with no alterations.

I have the custom 96x32 pixel banner made if someone would be willing to try importing the image into opening.bnr for me...

I finally remembered how.

For future reference: Download IrfanView 64, open your image with it and resize to 96x32 pixels and save the image as a TGA file. Download GCBanner v0.3 and use the command prompt to convert the TGA to a banner. Rename the new file to opening.BNR and drop it into the root folder of the Gamecube game.

ROM Hacking Discussion / Need help editing an existing IPS patch...
« on: February 09, 2020, 06:36:18 pm »
I recently learned about "Perfect Pokemon Crystal", a hack that attempts to purely improve the original game. The hack is excellent but does have some issues that people have asked to be fixed. I downloaded the source code for the patch supplied at the creator's github and was able to easily edit the ASM files with notepad that contained pkmn encounter rates and trainer data.

My question is: How do I now recompile this folder of sourcecode into an IPS patch?

Thank you.

One thing I've been wanting to do for my mod of 007: Agent Under Fire for the Gamecube is edit the three .mpc full motion video files that appear when you boot the game up. I would preferably be able to edit one to show a custom video of my choosing. From what I've read about the .mpc format it's actually an audio format, but somehow EA Game was able to add video to it as well. I'm able to open these .mpc videos with Sony Vegas (video editor) and view the video portion of the file but Vegas cannot re-render the video as .mpc. I've also tried using a program that works with the .mpc audio format, but wasn't able to successful make anything happen with that either.

Here's a link to a .mpc from the intro of Agent Under Fire if someone wants to take a crack at this

Actually, this would probably be better placed in the ROM Hacking thread...
