人造人間 = Artificial Human

There's some confusion about the term cyborg/android because neither is actually correct; all of Dr.Gero's creations are called "Jinzouningen", but some are Androids (16, 19), while others are Cyborgs (17,18,20). Cell is also called an Artificial Human, although he's neither an android or cyborg. So the correct translation (given the context) is Artificial Human.

If you're translating this to English, then Androids is the more accepted term, even if it's not correct.

This seems to be par for the course for every image and downloading service (Mega, Turboload).
There's a period where they want to attract users, so anything goes. Hotlinking, generous bandwidth, no limits.
Then one or two years later, they start to see their coffers aren't getting filled, but emptying. They start limiting stuff.
Then they die.

I mean, we thought stuff like Rapidshare and Megaupload were a given, and where are they today? Dead.
I imagine youtube will follow soon, Google never even tried to hide that youtube is always in the red.

I thought I got redirected to one of those 123url sites for a second.
Anyway, it would be nice to have a button to hide an individual column. The tweets column is way to the bottom, you have to scroll a lot to see it. A way to hide columns as you see fit would be ideal.

I remember watching a video where there was this store that was still selling a lot of old computer & console gaming parts, it seems like in some way Japan is kind of keeping it alive, but you have to look for it.

As for the games themselves...well that is a different story.
There is an online service called Project EGG that sells disk images, but they do so on a rotation schedule. IIRC, the game I'm looking for was sold in 2009 only, I think.

I tried using Kruptar in the past, and indeed it can be kind of hard to guess what various things do. I started translating SRW2 with it, but since AGTP released their translation, my attention drifted elsewhere.
I guess you started using it because of the graphical interface? If that's it, I believe you should give Atlas/Cartographer/Romjuice a try first, even if they're command-line driven. There's more documentation and examples on them.

About finding the pointer tables, sadly you're gonna have to do this one yourself. If it's a NES game, usually the table comes right before each text section, but not on all games (there are no standards for this, sadly). You can find them either through trial-and-error or using a debugger with breakpoints. If you didn't understand the last sentence at all, you need to have a look at tutorials for those first. I think there's a tutorial about finding pointers on YSIII here on RHnet.

Man, those PC-98 games are really beautiful. A shame it's so difficult to find some software for it and the PC-88. I'd love to try translating the first VOTOMS game (VOTOMS Black Unicorn), but I've never been able to find it anywhere. I even tried to get in contact with someone to buy the physical disks for me. It's like a forgotten part of the japanese gaming market.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this Macross release.

I remember reading somewhere that this was done either to help the programmer count CPU cycles, or it was because of a bug in the CPU (using a NOP right after another certain statement). I think it was in the GBC Reference Guide posted here in RHnet.

ISS had a huge hacking scene in Latin America back in the '90s, I guess that's what the topic creator is talking about. From Campeonato Brasileiro '96 (ISS), Campeonato Argentino (ISS) to Campeonato Brasileiro '98 (ISS Deluxe), we had a lot of those hacks back in the day, so much that some people didn't even know the original games. If you try to download the original ROMs from a fullset, you'll probably get all those hacks in the same pack.

Also, hacking for Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven was so extensive back in the PS1/PS2 days that there are still releases nowadays, where they've swapped the whole narration with a Portuguese/Spanish narration, made every national league and so on. They have a pretty good set of tools for this too.

Another modding scene that's still very active is for Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (PS2). They just released the Dragon Ball Super characters.

First here is credited as Bern in all official documentation I can find.
ギャブレ― full name is Gavlet Gablae; depends on whether primary or surname is being referred to here. I'm having a hard time finding Japanese sources for the name so I can't say whether or not they're both spelled the same way in kana.
I mentioned "Tomino names", because Yoshiyuki Tomino (creator of Gundam, Dunbine, L-Gaim) creates characters with weird names. Job John, Full Flat, Bishott Hate, Shot Weapon. I wouldn't put it behind him to name someone Burn Burnings.

About Gablae, his full name is ギャブレット・ギャブレー (Gavlet Gablae) . At least in Tomino works, he makes a distinction between mute and spoken Ts. In both L-Gaim and Xabungle (there's another Gavlet on Xabungle), those characters spell their full names because the main cast doesn't get them correctly at first. In Xabungle it's even comic relief in a few episodes.

I can confirm the Doran is indeed the one from Xabungle - it's a white flying two-seater.
The Auge in this game seems to be just "Auge", not "Original Auge" (the original Auge has a red cross flag on its left shoulder).

About Dragoon/Dragone/Dracon, there's a Dragoon in Dragonar (not present in this game), but I don't remember it in any of those other series - probably an original enemy?

Edit: I've looked into it, and indeed they're originals.
