Personal Projects / Re: Secret of Mana: Relocalized
« on: February 13, 2019, 01:46:37 am »
Don't know if this is intentional or not, but whenever i open a treasure chest that has money in it, it'll still say "Acquired X GP" instead of "Acquired X L"
I'm using this patch along with Kethinov's Level 9 weapon progression patch, so i don't know if using them together is causing that issue, or if it's part of the problem with 1.4 of the re-localization.

Quick Question: Recently, this patch was released that changed up how you acquired the level 9 weapon orbs:

So I was wondering if that patch is compatible with the relocalization patch you made, or if I’m just better off sticking to the FuSoYa VFW patch until you can get it working with it.

I would like to see a English translation hack for the Japanese version of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, the reason I want to see this is because this version was released 11 days after the American version and they were able to improved the game a lot in that version:

https://tcrf.net/Mario_%26_Luigi:_Superstar_Saga/Regional_Differences

I also would like to see the unused Starbeans cameos be restore as well: https://tcrf.net/Mario_%26_Luigi:_Superstar_Saga#Starbeans_Cameos

Was that suppose to be a jab at me for the post I made earlier???

I'd like to see a Restoration patch for The Peace Keepers for the SNES, because a lot of stuff was removed and changed for the Western release of the game, where it was known as Rushing Beat Shura in Japan. Or if possible, translations of both Rushing Beat Ran or Shura, since Rushing Beat 1 already  has a patch.

Here's a link to an article Hardcoregaming101 did on the series:

Yep, it loads in the value and starts doing some floating point manipulation to it as part of some of the text routines. At the moment I've essentially loaded in a fixed value so the font is half width compared to what it was before. Since I've since gotten a bit more familiar with the horizontal positioning side of things since I last tried, it should go a bit better once I get back around to it at least.

You shouldn't have any issues playing through the game at the moment, especially if you're already familiar with it. The main menus are in English, as well as all of the character names, unit names, and weapon names.

Here's an example image from the endgame OG2 save I use for testing for example:

The odd effect description might not be in-game when you use Select to view what it does, but those can usually be inferred, or quickly looked up. Descriptions of Spirits, pilot skills and unit abilities are all in as well, but as there's some duplicates in the strings for those, a Japanese description may pop up. If that does happen, you can check the effect in the Search menu for sure though.

Good to know. Also, if you need someone to do Beta Testing for the final patch, when you get to that point, let me know.
I have a softmodded ps2 i can test this out on, should the need arise.

It's good to finally see someone translate the PS2 version of OGs.
Tried to slog through the game in Japanese, but stopped after the 2nd chapter in Kyosuke's Route.

So, quick question: Is it possible to play through both games on the disc with just the menu patch, if i know the story??

Regardless, keep up the awesome work, and i can't wait to play the final product!!!

Ever since YouTuber LukeMorse1 showed off game-play of Rusty, i've been hoping that someone would translate the game into English. Now that the project is finally in beta, i'm looking forward to it more than the new Castlevania fangame coming out at the end of the month, Lecarde Chronicles 2.

Keep up the awesome work!!

DougRPG said that he should have the remaining graphics extracted by Friday (in Brazil). FlashPV will probably be able to do the edits that same day, and on the weekend, DDStranslation can put everything together for the beta patch. Once that's done, I will take the last remaining manual pictures and send them to Cargodin for insertion into the English manual. I will do a quick test to make sure that things are in order, and then (providing there are no problems) beta testing will finally begin next week...

Look's like your Easter miracle finally came true. Can't wait to play the final product!!!

Also, can someone confirm if this game works 100% on SNES9X GX???

This translation is so close to being done, i can almost taste it.
Hang in there guys!!  ;)

Awesome. I'll have to give it a go when i get the chance.

Also, do you plan on doing a similar patch for Golden Sun: Dark Dawn for the DS???

When i first played it, i felt it was way too easy, and have been waiting for someone to do a rebalance patch for the game.

Maybe someone could tinker around with the contents of the patch, and see if they can get it working with the more up to date roms and patchers. *Wink,Wink* ;)

I've tried everything you've said, and i STILL can't get it to work.
Times like these makes me wish someone would do Fan Translations of all 3 Rushing Beat games.

Newcomer's Board / Patching Problems
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:10:57 pm »
I'm new to the forums, and hoping that someone can help me with my problem.

There's a patch i found which will re-insert music and the portraits from "Rushing Beat Shura" into "The Peacekeepers" for the SNES.

Problem is, whenever i patch the rom and load it, i get a failed checksum and bad rom message (I'm using ZSNES BTW).

I'll link you guys to the patch, and hopefully i can get some help on what i'm doing wrong.

EDIT: Here's a link to the actual website the patch is hosted on, as opposed to a link to the patch. It's the second article down: http://web.archive.org/web/20030701133136/http://underworld.fortunecity.com/virtua/513/noframe6.htm

Thanks Again!!!
