Gaming Discussion / Re: GCW-Zero Handheld on Kickstarter
« on: January 18, 2013, 09:01:01 pm »
Well, I pledged for it. If and when I get my hands on one I'll have to let you know how it is. They upped the ram to 512MB and 16GB storage.

As long as emulation on the handheld is good, I'll be happy. I just want to play some of my favorite classic games on the go. lol

Gaming Discussion / GCW-Zero Handheld on Kickstarter

I've never pledged for anything on Kickstarter before, but i was thinking about this being my first.

I've been looking for a handheld to use mainly for emulation (NES, SNES, Genesis, GBA) and I'm hoping this maybe it. GCW Zero seem like a sold handheld console and it's open source.

However, having one of these as a portable emulation station (emulators & ROMs on the Micro SD) would be great.

This would be the only reason I'd actually buy it.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Did anyone play Pier Solar

I'm surprised I never heard of this game, it looks amazing. I'll have to check it out.

Looks likes the developers are doing a type of kick starter for the HD version.

I maintain that if people weren't literally paying them money for nothing they would have been bought out long ago.  (By that I mean that only a tiny fraction of the games that people pay them money for probably ever get installed, much less played.)

So true, it's hard to resist some to steam's sales they have. I have several games a bought that I may never play. lol

General Discussion / Re: Windows 8?

Maybe they feel like they might steal some Apple customers?

Well, as a Apple user I just bought Windows 7 to dual boot on my Mac. Mostly for computer gaming. Windows 8 looks horrible to me. :/

My feeling is they waited too long to make another Indiana Jones. The fourth movie was okay on it's own, but didn't feel like the other Indianas I watched as a kid.

Looks like this would be great for CD based translations. making it easy to patch Playstation or Saturn games mite get more people interested in translating them.

With advances in technology, we soon maybe able to implant a chip in are brains that could translate any language.

Although that would make ROM translating obsolete.  :(

Gaming Discussion / So, Neo Geo X is Real!
« on: August 14, 2012, 08:01:55 pm »
In the web news today the Neo Geo X will be coming out in December for $199. It's will include 20 games and more will be announced once released. You will also be able to hook it to your TV.

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2012/08/neo-geo-x/

I'm actually thinking about getting one, just because of all the nostalgia. Neo Geo made some of my favorite arcade games. Also the hopes of being able to put emulators on the handheld. Maybe.  ;)

I can't wait for this to be finished! Front Mission is also one of my favorite series. I'll have to start playing through FM 1st again so I'll be ready for this one.

Well, I have to admit this does look very appealing. I've been looking for a handheld that can use emulators faithfully. I'm defiantly going to look into this further.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Final Fantasy III PSP

According to The-Magicbox:

Quote
Square Enix confirmed that the PSP remake of Final Fantasy III will include English language option, making it import friendly for western players. Final Fantasy III will be released on Sept 20.

So it might not officially come to the states, but you can easily import it.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Sega is finally done
« on: June 03, 2012, 10:13:04 am »
This is sad news indeed. I have to admit that Sega was never my favorite back in the day, but I've had countless hours of fun playing on the Genesis.

As long as they're still making games I'm sure we will still see a few gems now and then.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Chrono Cross???
« on: May 31, 2012, 07:23:21 am »
I enjoyed playing Chrono Cross, but that being said I thought it was far too different then Chrono Trigger which made it feel out of place.

Chrono Cross has great music, good graphics (though it hasn't aged well) and an interesting story that got me to play to the end. All in all its a great standalone game.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Nintendo posts $530 million in losses
« on: April 30, 2012, 04:48:03 pm »
Well, if Nintendo goes under because of video game sales. They can go back to their good old days of prostitution. Sex always sells. haha

All joking aside, I really respect Nintendo and hope to continue to see them prosper in the future.
