Just wanted to post an update on where things currently stand.

I finished playing through the game last week, and uploaded a new version of the patch that fixed all the things I noticed while playing.

I also want to announce that Eien Ni Hen is the one that was reviewing the script's translation, which is great because she also did the translation work for Aeon Genesis' Romancing Saga 2 translation. She has volunteered to also edit and proofread the script, so it may take a bit longer for a final release, but it will be worth the wait.

Those are great news! I already had the pleasure to work on the same project like her (Arabian Nights) and her translation was outstanding!

Love that FF6 improvement hack! I don't even want to imagine the amount of work which probably flowed into it.
Some of the known issues seem like they should be fixed though (stamina instead of mp use, broken map and broken animations for example). But who am I to judge^^

ikari made SRAM of 512kbit and 1mbit possible in one of his last patches... I see no reason why it shouldn't work with expanded SRAM-data on a sd2snes now.
If it shouldn't work, just send the ROM to him. He even did a special fix to his flashcard so the Megaman X 3 playable zero patch works flawless on real hardware.

Bosses in Action-RPGs are hardcoded most of the time and can't be changed much with editors (if you put status changes aside). You have to poke at the code yourself to alter AI most of the time and if you even want to extend the battle you need to add new routines to the code yourself.

I bought all the SFC and GBA entries of the series because I love Intelligent Design especially for their 2D games.

However, I would never play Fire Emblem because the games are made to be a pain in the neck. And the japanese fans love it for being this way. Masochists.

At least the games reward the player with beautiful presentation (if you leave the first SFC one out), deep mechanics, a lot of contend and a great storyline.

But still, you'll have a lot more fun with Super Famicom Wars and Advance Wars, trust me.

I've been waiting for this! Got stuck in the adventure game in the japanese original... Now I can finally play it to the end!

You could use the fishing rod for Puzzles in dungeons (magical fishes turn into keys, you have to feed an monster to open the door for you or put one fish into each water hole of the room to make a chest appear) , for an extra income (being the only way to earn rupees would make the game frustrating though), and for an extra quest (NPC wants special kind of fishes from you which you obviously can't find everywhere and gives you good rewards like heart pieces, a special melodie required to enter a special dungeon or a bottle).
Maybe you can even add the possibility to turn switches underwater with the rod or something (just let some sign say "I connected my pet to this long thing down there, please don't chain it off. It likes to bite! - Zora Merchant" :D) simply connecting a catched fish with a cutscene of a switched lever. Lotsa possibilities, just felt like giving some input since you asked^^

I was just thinking about this. Is the Battle Garegga demo on the Soukyugurentai rerelease on Saturn possibly the full game forced to stop after the first level? If yes, would it be possible to "unlock" the full game with some hacking or maybe even only a cheat-cartridge code?
Prices of Battle Garegga currently go around 130-150 Euro, so this would literally be worth looking into...
