i made a Final fantasy V hack for the gba, wich gives only new sprites to the characters, and since the game is compressed, i had to use tools like nlz gba and then repoint the new spritesheets since most of them were bigger than the old one.
the game is working perfectly on pc and android emulators, but once i or my friend tried it on our flashcard, it crashes everytime the game attempts to load the sprites, so in pause menu or in battle...
could this have something to do with where i placed the new sprites?
i hope this much work of respriting wasn't for nothing :(

I have been searching for tutorials in translation hacking but, every tutorial starts out somewhat in the middle, and i know NOTHING about that kind of hacking. So it would be really nice if someone could explain me everything, from which tools i need to even how to open a game script. Right now I'm talking about gba translation, and i want to translate from Japanese to English. Thanks in advance

ROM Hacking Discussion / Help at respriting FFV advance

As the title says, i want to resprite FFV for the gba, but whenever i change a characters sprites they mess up the next one.For example i edited Bartz's freelancers sprites but that just screwed lenna's knight graphics.
Another way would be to put bartz's new sprites at the end of the game, but how can i hex edit it that the game takes bartz's new sprites instead of his old whitout screwing up all the other characters. Please Help :'(
