ROM Hacking Discussion / Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon (PSX) Translation
« on: January 03, 2015, 05:36:45 am »
Chocobo's Dungeon 2 on PSX was one of the best games I have ever played in my life. We played the game with my fiancee together co-operative and we had so many good memories. After playing it thru, it was really sad to learn that the first game was only avaliable on Japanese region. So i tried to find a fan-translation on the net.

This is what I found. This is not my project, but a wordpress blog called "Gamer's Haven" the site's owner was making a translation patch for the game during 2009. I think his nickname is fallensaviour and he abandoned project since then (or released on a unknown platform). Here is the his project page and blog: https://fallensaviour.wordpress.com/2009/08/14/chocobos-mysterious-dungeon/

So do you know who he is? Any idea to reach him? Maybe he can at least give us the his dead translation patch and it would be much more easier to play than a full Japanese version. I really want to e-mail him.

ROM Hacking Discussion / How can i change Dragon Warrior VII (PSX) music?
« on: February 24, 2014, 06:57:48 am »
Inspired by the 3DS version, i have an idea. I would like to replace PSX version's original soundtrack with the symphonic suite, just like in the 3DS version. Is there an easy way to do it with proper (and beginner level) tools?  :)

You know, home ports of KoF series are famous with their awesome arranged soundtracks. Sadly, PS2 version of The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga doesn't have this option, the games are only running with their original soundtracks. But arranged tracks are available only for listening in the menus as a bonus. So is it possible to swap those original tracks with arranged ones? The DVD has both OSTs and ASTs, so what can i do for that? And I'm a beginner level hacker by the way :)
