Hello there!

I have previously edited the sign that Link
is holding in the intro text in the first
Zelda game, but that was using NESticle
and it was a bloody hard puzzle that
took a lot of time. Is there a way to
use a graphics editor and get all the
right pieces together so it's easy to
modify the sign? I use the PAL version.

Thank you in advance if you help out!

Hi there!

Mato-san created some tools and translated some of
the game Tomato Adventure, but there's a lot of
Japanese text left to translate to English. His
tools and patch are available here:
https://legendsoflocalization.com/tomato-adventure/

Is there a translator out there willing to help me?

Have a nice day!

Well met!

I'm trying to change the title screen of Zelda 2 to
Swedish. I tried using the font Bookman Old Style,
but the letters are too big and I can't shrink the
letters down to pixel height 12 and still make it
look good. Changing "THE ADVENTURE OF" to
"ÄVENTYRET MED" is my goal. I want the
text to lean like the original text.

Some other people translated Zelda 2 to Swedish as
well, but they didn't change the title screen.

I would give the proper credit to anyone who might
lend me a hand (not Jaime Lannister's hand).

Thank you for reading!

Have a nice day!

Hi there!

I've translated Zelda 1 & 2 for NES to my native language Swedish,
but I wish to do it again, but now use the PAL versions as a base.
I extracted the PAL versions from the PAL versions of the WAD:s
for Wii. I'm gonna use Mato-san's guide to improve the translation
of Zelda 1.

This is what I humbly wish for help with:

Zelda 1

Expand the window with letters when you register your name
and add a row at the bottom with Swedish characters (ÅÄÖ).

Move the text up a little when the NPC speaks and get the
NPC three lines of dialogue?

Convert to MMC3 and store more text elsewhere?

Zelda 2

Expand the window with letters when you register your name
and add a row at the bottom with Swedish characters (ÅÄÖ).

Change the size of the text windows (aka. letterbox?) so
that more text can fit if it's possible?

Convert to MMC3 and store more text elsewhere?

I wish to make a certain patch with the changes in English
in case some other person wish to translate the PAL version
to her/his native language.

I've taken a beginners course in Ada, but I thought it was
hard to understand and I know that Assembler is even
harder.

I might even try to translate Zelda 1 and 2 for GBA afterwards
if it's not too difficult.

Thank you for reading!

Have a nice day!

Hello, world! Hallå, världen!

It's my country Sweden's independence day today so I thought
it would be appropriate to ask for help with correcting
spelling errors in the Swedish version (Nintendo's fault
because they didn't let the Swedes proofread before
sending the ROM to the factory).

The command "GÄ" should read "GÅ" and the command "SLÄ"
should read "SLÅ". Some funny Swedes even made a song
where they sing the wrong spelling on purpose. There's
also some typos in the text besides the commands.

Zafarion-san translated Shadowgate to his native language
Portuguese and he very kindly gave me his tools, but they
only work with the US (NTSC) version and not the Swedish
(PAL) version and I can't figure out why. I still have
the tools though in case some smart person can adapt
them to the PAL version.
