Newcomer's Board / Dropbox DMCA notices

So, I just got a DMCA notice on my .ips files. I don't keep roms, but i do keep my .ips files on dropbox for safety. It was a DBZ title for the Gameboy. Now they are all locked down. I'm hoping my old HD has it saved. Just FYI to others who have .ips or maybe other files on your dropbox. I guess they started doing it the last two three years hard.

I always hate to ask this since I feel like I'm being needy, but I would appreciate any help here. Each one of a small part of the manual that I'm trying to figure out about the game to play it better, For a higher score. I have a general idea of what it says based on logical gameplay, but I'd like to know more. It's really fun.

Main Character Screen

I know the words in the black capsules, but the specific item meanings would be helpful, and of course the Special at the end.

Here, your character has a nickname, that if you catch the letters, you'll earn points I think. If you're playing two players, the name changes and you'll have to score points with a new nickname. Also, if you choose the wrong letters, you'll lose any letters you've scored.

There appears to be a Rank structure in the game that when you hit a certain point, you'll get a new rank.

Script Help and Language Discussion / Battle commands - NGPC game

As you've known I've been working on this game quite a bit (Biomotor Unitron 2), however over the last year I've been working at a new job and lost time working on it. I'm interested in finding out how to work the battle system better, but I'm not understanding the flow.

For example. An enemy goes to attack, but "の" is added at the end of the enemy's name and I get the following command as seen below. Any idea?

Blades の
カマよ!!

There are a few others, would anyone care to assist me in the meaning of these? I think there would be about 4 more similar to what you see above. Thanks Again.

Programming / Looking for script dump help

I've been manually translating a few games now and gosh darn how stressful it is. I was wondering if anyone could like to take a crack at helping me.

The game is biomotor unitron 2 for the NGPC. You can see the work I've done so far, but I'd definitely like some professional help. I have a new site neogeoplanet.com and I'd like to see these awesome games get completed.

Download included. I lost a lot of my work, so I'm going to have to start at square one with inserting text, the rest isn't bad.

So, I spent the time and money building my own cart of this game and after everything I started the game up and played for a bit. After saving I soon realized that the hackers never finished the translation. I'm guessing it wasn't found as the game doesn't like to save on emulators, so they didn't notice it.

This translation now has the corrected, "Continue" spelling when starting your saved game. You can see it below.

I've been trying to figure out how their group did the translation and I'm dumbfounded. I've attempted to reverse "engineer" the packer they did but I'm having some trouble here. I know it's xdelta, but I've been trying to see how it's being used and on what files.

I have NO idea how to read it, no program I found will identify it.

Personal Projects / Wii - Earth Seeker Translation

Hi,

Some of you may know me from RomHacking.net and my Neo Geo Pocket Color translations (If you don't, no worries lol). I've been dying to mess around with this game. Seeing DoomBringer's initial creation and the others that followed made me want to continue the work. I just translated a few sections of text to mess around with everything. See the picture below. I believe the issues with the patching before was just silly instructions and lack of patching knowledge.

1 - Develop the patch file using .ips format

2 - Extract the four .FFX files

3 - Create an Iso or download the game.

4 - Patch the .FFX files

5 - Use Wiiscrubber to replace the existing files on the disc .iso

Here is proof running on my television, using NeoGamma as the disc loader. Don't worry about the added text after the name, I was just messing around, since I didn't have a font table in use yet.



The Font Table is SHIFT-J, so I was able to identify WAY more than what I thought. There are still come characters that don't show up such at the exclamation mark seen above, which is actually BB for the fancier "!" and 21 for the standard "!", both work though.

Update: I got ppf copies of the original patch from a Mod here, so I'll see what DoomBringer was doing, maybe I can release something more. I know the other guy got WAY further than what is listed in the DoomBringer patches. I don't understand why he didn't release anything.

ROM Hacking Discussion / Pizza Pops! Translation - Famicom

So, I got the mapper hack file from Mottzilla for Pizza Pops and I've translated all dialogue for all 7 levels. Now that the hard work is done, I've tile swapped out the Japanese characters for english characters. Usually this would be a piece of cake and I'd be done in 30 minutes, however FCEUltra (NES Emulator) shows me what hexadecimal the game is using for each font character letter (C0=A, etc.), however I'm not able to find it in the game itself. There's two main font "tables" and one semi font "Table" where the game pulls sprites/tiles from.

i.e.
I can find the first two lines below at 0000F708
However the last two lines of text are no where to be found
(The weird lines,etc. was me just identifying spaces)


I'm curious if the mapper hack did something to how the game stores text. Anyone have any advice. I'd post the rom, but I know Mottzilla doesn't want it leaked out.

I'm looking to try to extract an iso/cue or bin/cue to display what I believe should be an iso and wave/mp3 files. I'd then like to extract and mess around inside the actual iso of the game. I don't quite know how to do that for Turbo cd or pc engine supercd games.

Any help or direction would be great.

Hello,

I've been on here for awhile, I was wondering if there is anyone (or a group of people), who would like to assist me in handling a few hacking/modifying issues with this ROM translation.

I want to remove all unnecessary characters from the name entry screen (Japanese characters, so I can use the tiles elsewhere).

A few more issues, but this is the most important.

Folks, here's another run at the start of an English Translation for a unreleased to the states Neo Geo Pocket Color title.

The game is about playing music and creating a band of characters to play with you.

This is just the download to Dreamcast screen, I think I'll do all the menu's first, then the actual gameplay, instead of skipping around.

The game has about 4 main text tables, due to the fact that you turn the handheld in various directions while playing certain instruments. Pretty neat actually.

So, I thought I'd practice my japanese on some other titles, obviously I need it. I started doing title screen hacks for Robopon Star to test my sprite skills. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in these two titles.

The US only got Sun.

Hello, I'm trying to get the introduction down for this game and it's being a slight pain. If anyone is willing to help, I'd really appreciate it. I'd be glad to include your name on the RHDN roster as well as the end game credits.

Any left over $00 are spaces and $E5 are ....

Thanks again A LOT, the context is that there was a great power of the "World Tree" and the power was used by man, which caused war, etc. Then there were two children (or new children in the world) and that' a far as I've gotten.
