ROM Hacking Discussion / Pokemon Yellow NES Translation Project
« on: December 09, 2012, 09:00:08 pm »

Here's some comparison screens between the current and original versions of the game.

This project's goal is to translate Shenzhen Nanjing's Pokemon Yellow for the Famicom into English.

Right now, all 159 Pokemon names are completely translated.

Most of the battle dialogue is done.

The opening dialogue is finished.

All items and their descriptions are done.

All menus have been translated.

All attack names have received a partial translation.

And the PPU for the battle and menu has been reorganized to prevent any glitched graphics from the longer Pokemon names.

As of now the game is 100% translated for the main story.

Here's the latest patch: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23698591/Pokemon%20Yellow%20English%20Translated%20(08-19-2015).rar

This is a patch over the original Chinese version. The game is titled: "Lei Dian Huang Bi Ka Qiu Chuan Shuo (NJ046) (Ch) [!]"

This patch also includes the music hack.

Let me know if any bugs are found.

Newcomer's Board / Help Patching DQ & FF Itadaki Street Portable

I'm working on a translation of this game. This is my first time working on a PSP game. I managed to translate the menu. Here's a couple of pictures taken from Jpcsp:

The changes show up on Jpcsp, but not when I play the game on the PSP. So I made a patch and patched the original version of the game, but the changes still do not show up.

I used PPF O Matic and PPF Studio. And I'm using the hex editor MadEdit.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hey, I am getting pretty far along in editing the graphics for the levels and wanted to start preparing some enemy graphics.
Here's my idea for Sephiroth.

I wanted to know what everyone thinks, and if you have any ideas on how to make him look better, let me know.
Also if you have any enemy graphics, let me know and I'll put them in.
Thanks :)

Newcomer's Board / Need help with Final Fantasy VII NES graphics
« on: January 26, 2011, 09:05:35 pm »
Hi, this is my first time working on a game and I decided to improve the graphics on the Final Fantasy 7 NES port. I managed to change Cloud and Barret's battle sprites, here's what they look like now.

But I am having trouble with editing the graphics. When I go into tile layer pro, here's what the data looks like.

I can edit the graphics, but it takes a lot of trial and error. and is a bit confusing a times.

I wanted to know if anyone knows a way to make it appear like normal.
