Legend of Mana: I've played this one for a few hours and intent to pick it back up some time in the near future. It again feels like another step up from my perspective. The graphics are beautiful, the controls are fine, the music is nice. The overworld or whatever you want to call it in this game is pretty interesting. It's strange, but I like it. It really sets it apart from a lot of other games I've played. For those who don't know, you more or less arrange the overworld in this game yourself. Certain items can be turned into new areas that can be placed on the world map and can then be explored like normal. Being given the choice between a male or female protagonist was nice too. Can't wait to get back to this one.
I also played a bit of Sword of Mana, but like FFA I've only played enough of it to get a feel for it.
-Regarding The Series Entirely-
Well, y'know, if you don't have something to compare it to (like the "Stealth" GBA port), it looks like a perfectly reasonable game.
And we all know about Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis for GBA:
Telling the plain truth, I do not like to play games with different music than I first played them with. I don't like the GBA FF games for this reason, and I have a replacement audio on my Steam copy of FF4.
I also have a custom FF8 Roses + Wine mod for the original PSX music.
Weirdest bit of nonsense, yes. The weirdest experience for me was hearing job reports.
"I got a good feeling!!" "This is the way!"
Yeah, I think a lot of "dumb" terminology mentioned in this thread are actually pretty good---just because you aren't familiar with latin or other foreign language/religious concepts doesn't make their usage dumb. I do, however, have a feeling that there is a direct correlation between how "dumb" a poster thinks a term is and how much they don't like said game it shows up in...
Which is probably why I haven't seen a mention of the Persona series generally (and SMT generally), which uses a number of Indian/Hindu terms and themes in almost all its games. All of which might be considered "dumb" in English.
I'm garbage tier at fighting games.
