The situation is you are searching for a character (wataru) and you meet one of his friends (shibaraku) also searching for him. The problem I am having is with the さきにいかれよ is he telling you to go ahead, or is he saying he will go ahead? His line sounds to me like he is telling you to go ahead but there are other characters later that seem to contradict that.
どうやら (ワタル)は うみのとうに いるようだ
(せっしゃ)は そちらにむかうから [NAME]どのは
Somehow it seems Wataru is in the sea tower
so I'm headed there. [NAME], you go on ahead. <-- is what I thought.
and later some other random guy:
(シバラク)さんも さっきここを いったよ
Shibaraku already came through here.
and another guy:
なに? (シバラク)なら さきにいったぞ ワシなりに
たいへんなようだから このフネに のせてやるよ
What? Shibaraku already left? I was also
searching for Wataru...
Considering the circumstances, you can take the boat.
Is that close? This is my first translation, so basic grammar is still sometimes confusing...
