Ha, that is true...but I am still surprised the translation team did not fill out a new report.

* guess I could try and contact them *

Anyhow, I have really been enjoying the translation/game !!

Though there sure are a lot of enemies to encounter  ^_^"

Wow, just saw this on the front page...and I really thought it was a mistake until I tried out the patch  ^_^"

* anyhow, congrats *

I am really feeling the battle system...it is more or less who can 1 shot the other first.

You really have to keep finding/buy better armor to survive more than one turn.

Outside of healing magic...I have not come across any powerful spells, but that is okay...these axes are the answer for every enemy I have run across !

Umm...wait...am I reading this right ?

Romancing SaGa for the SNES is translated in English ?

* seems like it would get it's own front page news section, for something that amazing *

whew, after a labor day weekend of leveling up one level...trying the battle...losing...leveling up one level...trying the battle...losing...leveling up one level...well you get the picture.

here is the team I was able to beat the level with :

Main - Orator lv.15
White Magicks
Equip Shields
Accure JP

Thief lv.15
Jump +1

Geomancer lv.19
Martial Arts
Equip Heavy Armor
Accure EXP

Summoner lv.17
Black Magicks
Counter Tackle
Equip Shields

I just really needed better skills to compete with their superior equipment.

Hmm...I did not notice any mantles or poles in the stores, before the battle.

Also, does low faith make magic do less damage on you ?

Thanks again for your help and is the game making all of the enemies the same or 1~2 levels higher than my highest level character ?

I have cleared the next two stages with no problems...now that the shops are selling better items  ^_^"

yeah, the monks have a "air punch" attack that hits hard (42~46 damage) from far away.

* they also have the Item Hi-Potion and Parry/Defend skill *

the archer starts by climbing to the top of the building and snipes with the longbow for damage or breaking armor.

the knights have the Item Hi-Potion, Parry, and Defend skills...but also shields that block spells.

my level 2 ice spells only do about 20~22 damage, if not blocked.

* maybe because they have low faith ? *

I upgraded to a mystic and used umbra to blind them...but they still have 100% accuracy on their skill attacks.

currently have everyone grinded up to level 10 and they are still walking up to me and killing me off.

thanks for the heads up about the enemy generation setup...I have been replay this battle about 14 times at level 10 and currently waiting for a good generation to make the battle winnable.

I don't like over-leveling, but I may need to grind to level 20 or 30 to get past this chapter 1 battle.

oh wow...so the game generates all of the story enemies when I start a new game ?

or is it more what ever team/jobs you are currently using ?

yeah, I seem to be pulling unlucky straws here  ^_^"

hmm...so the enemy accessories are random as well ?

those rubber boots shut down all of my offense...i'll take your tip and grind for some ice spells.

* here is hoping the next set of enemies don't absorb ice magic *

oh and the monks are the ones who are hitting for a consistent 60 damage.

I was really surprised when I saw the damage !!

thought it was a critical or something, but that is how much they are hitting my fully armored knight for.

it is still surprising that I have to grind this much in chapter one...I am sure the game will get better, but this sure is a high learning curve.

ha, I had planned to giving up on this hack...but your reply encouraged me to give it another try.

quick version :

after 4 tries I was able to clear that stage.

long version :

upgrading to a knight helped out a lot.

I stiil had problems with the knight and the black mages.

the knight kept using hi potions on it's self...took forever to kill.

took a while to realize how the black mages were healing with bolt spells...they have rubber shoes.

they would cast bolt on themselves then run at the party to heal themselves and kill off any party members next to them.

I ended up losing one chemist and one archer that fight...main character was on "zero" during my final turn.

my party made it to level 4~5 that fight...upgraded my thunder and poison spells and tried the next battle.

to my surprise...all of the enemies in the next stage have equipment that make them immune to all poison and thunder spells...not to mention they are level 7~8 and do 60 damage per hit.

* only my knight can take a hit from them...plus they can use potions to heal *

also, thanks again for the info on 'Dash' and 'Throw Stone'...those were the skills I was using.

hmm, I am at a loss of how to clear the next stage...how far would I have to grind up to be able to survive an attack from these enemies.

* very sad I can not use and thunder or poison spells *

to be fair...my failure could be from my lack of skill/luck.

not so much that i lose in the first turn, during random battles, more that either the enemy can heal just as they are about to be defeated (then runs away) or my party get's the doom/death sentence and i am unable to clear the stage before the counter expires.

i think some of the early status elements have shut me down the most ( disable, don't move, blind, and one that broke my weapons/armor )

the damage prediction seems a little off to me...i seem to do 2~6 damage when it predicts 9~24 damage.

* this sometime allows the enemy to live and defeat me the follow turn *

oh and the random teams that have been giving me trouble are:

1st random area (red panthers with yellow chocobo)
2nd random area (blue/purple goblin with skeletons)

as far as the next story stage...i have tried to take out the archers first, but then the black mages twin cast an area fire spell that wipes out 2~3 party members (mainly the two guest members)

also, when i try to take out the mages the knight uses a hi-potion on them an then they start casting a one shot blizzard spell.

* i would love to have any magic resistant equipment...or anything that would increase my evasion rate *

but my party is :

main - squire
black mage lv.3
chemist lv.3
everyone else is a squire lv.2~3
guests are level 3

while my black mage can take out enemys with 2~3 lv.2 thunder spells...i usually lose the battle when it runs out of mp.

i hope this feedback was helpful...should i start over and grind during the intro levels ?

@Isao Kronos

thanks, I got everything working now !!

* google kept giving me odd PSP programs *

well I have not played FFT since the PS1 days.

the game starts off really fun...but now I am stuck at the beginning.

by stuck I mean I am unable to complete the next stage or any random battles.

* my main character is still at level 1 with 52 exp *

currently at the at beginning stage where you fight a knight, archers, and black mages.

* I have all of the best equipment and skill that are available *

normally I would fight random battles to level up...but the random battles are too high tier.

the random battle enemies are so strong...their skills and equipment are crazy.

my whole team gets ended before I can defeat one random enemy.

I may start over an see if I can do things differently...but I am leaning towards waiting for another update before I touch this game again.

wow...now this looks like a lot of fun  ^_^"

* time to hunt down a copy of the EUR version of this game *

question though...this will be my first time patching a PSP game.

I see that the file is named "FFT KO PSP 2point5.ppf"

what patching software would you recommend me using for this "ppf" file ?

Question: Has there been a solution yet for Pokemon, who can only evolve through trading?

Regarding to your hack you missed to add Paras. Arccording to the Pokedex, Paras cannot be found, but Parasects. I haven't encountered the Fully Evolved Trade Pokemon yet, but I hope you added them somehow.

yes, in V4.0 you are able to trade and catch these pokemon  ^_^"

* you can use you pokedex to find where they are hiding *

yeah...it has been brought to my attention  >_<"

* during my updates, somehow, my paras encounter all turned into parasect encounters *

i had a similar problem with slowpoke and slowbro in the past...so it is something that is easily fixed.

however...you are still able to catch 150 pokemon and earn your diploma  ^_^"

@Plint Michigan

true...most people run "LPs" of V3.0 because it uses the original sprites  ^_^"

* but i am sure these upgraded sprites will grow on you *

ha ha, i remembering trying to figure out what "Fearow" was !!

thanks...and please i love the feedback.

* that is how this hack has progressed this far *
