Title: Pac-Man CE NES is actually a romhack.

Yep, a hack that Namco and M2 had no part in.  There's no denying that this rendition is amazing, but I hope Coke774 got maybe a payment at least for using their work?

The fact that he kept his version for himself all this time is strong indication that he probably had been in talks with Namco at some point. I'd say he probably was paid to finish the work.

"In the case of Coke774, his work was highly appreciated by our team and we worked with him officially to implement his design into our game."

It looks to me more like homebrew than a romhack.

I will always wonder why he chose to make the ghosts' eyes disappear when he was using the exact sprites from the NES Pac-Man.

I treally does.  Before this I was questioning why Namco's suddenly into NES homebrew.  I've been fooled before though, I thought at first that nesrock's hack of Super Pitfall was homebrew.
