Title: Help, cant get Ys4 dub to work
Post by: RomanWarrior on February 09, 2018, 08:50:36 am
So ive had the first ys4 text translated on disc for over ten years. It works perfect on hardware and emu. I tried running the dub program on it from the iso i extracted from my translated disc. It would error out at 12 megs. I cannot get the dub to patch my copy. Any help?

Yeah, games with CD tracks are a pain in the ass to deal with.

I'm going to assume this is a PC-Engine CD game? Although I'm not familiar with the PC Engine, I have run into this issue with PSX games.

Did you rip and burn the CD image correctly? If you don't rip it properly, the CD audio tracks may not be copied into the ISO.

Here's how it's done on the PSX:

Don't know if the same method will work on the PC-Engine, but it's worth a try.

Yes the dub comes with its own ripping program and it shuts off at 12megs of ripping.  This is a nightmare,  I've never had a problem applying a patch to every pce game. Startling Odyssey 2, Xak3 , Castlvania Rondo of Blood all were smooth. Xak i even did two separate isos with different sizes if i remember correctly and they still worked / work fine
