Title: Heretic Schmeretic

I named Ramza "Schmeretic" so I could get these gems of in-game dialogue...

And, by the way, I'm totally a 38 year-old grownup.

Anybody else so familiar with a game's dialogue that you give characters specific names in order to create goofy results when the dialogue comes around to the right lines, or is that just me?

Edit:
Sorry, apparently I don't know how to embed images from dropbox.  :-[ I'll work on it and get back to you. In the meantime, you can click the links, I guess.

I always used to name my Crystalis hero after in-game character Stom, so when you eventually meat Stom's friend Deo the Rabbit after Stom gets killed, you'd have the line "Stom: I'm not Stom, he's gone..."

Heh-heh... Yeah, I like to name Chrono Trigger's Frog "Glen" for similar reasons.
Actually, CT has a lot of those, now that I think about it - Leene, Janus...

Haven't reached that point yet, but I was actually so fed up with Dark Cloud's translation
that I renamed Ungaga the Tribesman to Sad Jimmy, it was pretty amusing,
too bad he doesn't really have any plot significance, mentions, or dialogue past that chapter.

I also named my Conkers Hyrule Tale Character "Assface", but that was in the spirit of the game.

Remember Uniracers? With its built-in profanity filter? That was ridiculous. I had a friend named Cassidy. That name was too long, but we called him (yes, Cassidy was a guy) "Cass" for short. Uniracers wouldn't allow "Cass" as the player's name. Said the name was "not cool enough," because it had "ass" in it.
LOL.

I used to play FFIV and name Cecil "fuck," then name Rydia "her," Edward "Me," and Yang "You," so after the shipwreck scene, Cecil wakes up on the beach and says...
Fuck: You!
Fuck: Her!
Fuck: Me!
... Guess I'm alone.

In Earthbound give your favorite food a nasty name and you're set.

Haha, yes!
Mom says, "eat some ______ and go to bed," every time you talk to her.

Isn't there something about Squall's ring? I think I remember seeing a meme about it a couple of years ago. I rarely get far enough in FFVIII to even see the Griever GF, let alone knowing how it shows up in dialogue in order to give it a proper funny name.

Butts is a good, mature name for any protagonist.
