So, is there something I need to do to get the Dragon Warrior Randomizer to work?  I've followed the instructions, but still get a "msvcr100d.dll is missing" error whenever I try to run the actual program.

I've also tried getting the appropriate dll file properly downloaded, which made no difference, and I still get the same message.  I'm very open to suggestions!

You may not have downloaded the right dll. There are few of them with really close names.
This one worked for me :
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr100d

Once you have the dll, put it in the same folder as the randomizer.
In order to launch the tool, you also need either to modify the .bat file (right-click -> open with... -> choose a text editor) and input your ROM filename, either to put directly your Dragon Warrior ROM file in the same directory and rename it "dw1.nes".

Thank you!  I was following some other advice that told me to move the dll file elsewhere, which did approximately jack.  I had done the adjusting of the batch file already, but I just couldn't figure out why the rest of the process wasn't working.

Maybe there should be a note about this in the readme so that unsuspecting mortals like me don't waste the better part of an afternoon trying to figure this out?

NOTE:  The first randomized rom I generated put Erdricks sword in Erdricks cave...which was right next to Tantagel.
