Hmm... That Kung Fu hack might be underestimating the VCS/2600 a little:

^official Activision release in '84 (Kung Fu Master. NES was the only time "Master" was dropped).

Also, I'm pretty sure Flames of Eternity is a retooling of Crimson Echoes, whatever some of you still feel about that one.

I'm severely distressed to find one particular 'rom hack' has been approved by the automated bot/system without oversight from an actual person.

Please rescind and obliterate any trace of the hack submitted by this user and ban them from the website:

EDIT:  I already submitted a formal complaint/report and I'll save the details when I can get in touch with a moderator (if they require more information or explanation).  The TLDR version is that the specific hack mentioned was done through plagiarism (non-attribution; stolen/abused coding) and contempt for the ethics and spirit of the rom hacking and translation community.

Whats so bad about that hack? Seems that one has a bad rap :P

I wanted to submit the Crimson Echoes patch a few months ago but it was voted against submission here on the site.. Shame to see something like that not get the sharing it deserves though and plus with all the cease & desist nonsense from Square-Enix... Wish there was a patch of that N64 version which was being worked on years ago :(

At least we got a full finished Final Fantasy VI hack for the month :)

Submissions are reviewed and approved by humans, but we can't all be familiar with the details and politics of every hack out there. RHDN is a community maintained site, so it's up to the community to make appropriate submissions and identify problems like this. We catch as many mistakes as we can, and always address problems that are brought to our attention.

That cease and desist is why we will never host it.

:police: Did this site ever get a cease and desist letter from any companies before for hacks & translations?   :police:

The C&D doesn't apply to us, but we don't want to attract Square-Enix's negative attention by hosting material bound by it.
