Update By: MrFwibbles

It's been a long time coming, but Mr Fwibbles has returned as part of a brand new group called "Adventurous Translations" to finally bring us the 100% complete version of his English translation patch for the Game Boy Color RPG, Grandia: Parallel Trippers! There are NO known errors. It wasn't a simple project, either - more information and screenshots in the zip.

So, uh, what other games does this one in particular closely resemble?

This game plays somewhat like a Zelda game with Dragon Quest-style battles.

From what little I've played(you had to finish this shortly after I started another RPG :P), pretty much any other Grandia, it's just that the limitations of the Game Boy keep it from having that action-like feel.  That and you use cards to manage/learn new moves/spells.

Isn't there also a Tales game?

Thank you,MrFwibbles! Now i can give this game a try.Strange! None of RHDN downloads are working to me.All i get are corrupted ZIP files that are smaller than it should be.I'm on IE 8 anyway. When i used another browser, downloads worked fine again. This thing never happened to me before.

P.S.: Thank you too,StorMyu! I didn't know there were French translators working in the game.Patch will surely help, even though i know little-to-nothing from French.

There are others that look good too, like, Fushigi no Dungeon: Furai no Shiren GB2 - Sabaku no Majou.

But, I agree, along with this translation of Grandia, Star Ocean is the most important GBC to be translated.

I'll have to give this one a shot.  I remember eyeballing this shortly after I finished the original Grandia.  Actually, I've managed to finish all of them to this point, so I probably shouldn't stop now, right?  ;)

Thanks for the hard work!

YAY for Grandia.  :woot!: Thanks for that, must've been one hell of a job to squeeze appropriate english text into the tiny textboxes. First I thought the series is now complete in english but there is still Digital Musuem.

Better question would be, why do they make RPG's on handhelds in the first place? At best you get maybe 6 hours or so of battery life, so make games in a multi-hour genre? I know you shouldn't be playing 6 hours straight, but like I said, that's at best, if the battery(ies) lasts that long.

Being on a portable makes it easier to split those hours into smaller sessions. Seeing as many allow saving anywhere or else at least have a quick-save feature. Good if you only have say... 20 minutes free rather than a few hours to sit in front of the TV. At least you can get a bit of grinding done.

I recall easy getting at least 10 hours on my Game Boy Color back when I used it regularly (pretty much just DW1+2 and 3 and the Zelda Oracle of Seasons. That's all I had when the GBC was new, passed up Ages because mistakenly I though it was like Pokemon where it's only worthwhile to buy one version.). After getting my GBA SP, battery life stopped being a real issue. :)

Hey guys!
First of all, I wanna thanks for the translation. I've enjoyed playing it (Yes, I did).

I am looking for the action cards of the game, but I'm having some trouble finding them.
I just wanna keep them for me, as image.

Is there by any chance some way to hack the ROM and get the cards images?

Thanks!

Hey guys!

I managed to get them all!

I get 2/3 from in the game and the rest I use a code that Mr. Fwibbles post somewhere!

Thanks for all your help!
