Translations: Suikogaiden Translation Project - Rolling Along Steadily!

The Suikogaiden Translation Project website has been up and running for over a year, and I'm happy to say we have been and are making good progress. Our goal is to translate Suikogaiden 1 and create an English patch for the game, eventually moving on to Suikogaiden 2.

Currently, the rough translation of one "chapter" is complete; Suikogaiden 1 is divided up into four chapters. The other chapters are still in progress--at a rough estimate, we're probably 35% or 40% done with the initial translation. Patching work has also begun, though the technical field not being my area of expertise I couldn't say exactly how far along we are. Perhaps 20%, looking at the most recent estimate.

Someone recently mentioned getting the word out about the Suikogaiden Translation Project here at RomHacking.net, so I thought I'd give it a go. We're always open for suggestions regarding the translation--corrections or suggestions can be posted in the forums or e-mailed to me at RinUzuki@gmail.com . Fans and cheering support are always welcome, too. :3

Oh, this is fantastic!  I've been hoping someone translated these games for far too many years now.  Here's the cheering support you want!

Great, best of luck! I attempted a project of this game myself around 2001, but I was never able to find the text. I'm looking forward to finally playing it. :)

W00t! Can't wait to see this in English. I'd be willing to bet there's some Suikoden canon in here that's been hidden to the fanbase until now. Maybe just a little.

Hey! Thanks for your support, guys! I'm glad to hear people are excited for this. I know I am. XD

It's probably gonna take us a couple years before we're done with the patch for Suikogaiden 1, but we're gonna stick with it! (Suikogaiden 2 should, hypothetically, be completed somewhat quicker, as our techie Holmes has said that the technical parts should be pretty much the same and we'll only have the translating to focus on.)

I don't have any particular plans to update here at Romhacking.net regularly (I do update the Suikogaiden Translation Project website fairly often, though) but I'll try to note when something big happens, like we complete the entire rough translation, open up for beta testing or... actually complete the English patch, lol.

All we need is some patience to play that games finally as i see.No problem,keep up the good stuff 
"Japan Only" games is one the biggest things i hate in my life.It's so good to seem them translated time by time.
Someone said that "Suikoden Card Stories" will be translated in an unknown time.Do i remember correctly?

That was a project ChrisRPG was looking into before he died... Your info may stem from that, and thus be false.

Mh, since we're doing Suikogaiden we do get asked about Card Stories a lot... personally, I'd rather work on the Suikoden novels (and various manga spin-offs) than Card Stories, but I suppose it may be a future project to consider. Wouldn't want to inspire false hope, though. So I don't know. XD
