Forgot to add super paper mario to that list. Wii has waay more innovation (gc was just an extension of n64 with almost the same games) and waay more 2d and nostaligia.
Seriously? Super Paper Mario is one of the worst mario games I've played!
And Mario sunshine was great but ligis mansion seems like a cheap ghost busters game and kinda lame imo (never played it)
you're judging a game you never played? did you even own a gamecube? and yeah Luigi's Mansion is pretty sad, it was a stopgap, Mario Sunshine was indeed a terrific game and probably has some of the most challenging moments in just about any mario game I've played.
As for New IP on the Gamecube, they had a load, Pikmin, Mario Strikers, Baten Kaitos, Eternal Darkness, Giest, Killer 7, True Crime,
you mentioned starfox for gamecube, the land missions were lame but the space missions weren't bad (not as good as starfox 64) but there isn't even a starfox game on the Wii, or F-Zero, Waverace, Mario Tennis/Golf, 1080 snowboarding,
as for good 2D on Gamecube, what about Alien Hominid? 2.5D? Ikaruga, Viewtiful Joe, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Innovation? Resident Evil 4
First Fire Emblem, Metroid, Tales of Symphonia and Final Fantasy on a Nintendo home console since the SNES
as for Paper Mario looking inferior to a GBA game, are you blind? If you meant gameplay I'd still have to disagree unless you mean Super Paper Mario (terrible game)
as for dissing Pikmin after never playing it, you really need to give it a try, it's a console experience and an awesome one at that, it's not like games on the PC, and since you never played it, you didn't understand that.
Finally, the only reason I know that people say the GC MGS is worse than the PSX version is because of the voice acting, it wasn't made by kojima studios directly, but the visuals are obviously head and shoulders above the PSX version, and the gameplay incorporates elements from MGS2 so really it's better in a lot of ways.
Seriously man, after all the "but I haven't played it" statements it seems like you missed out on the entire Gamecube era and are dissing it for some odd reason. It had amazing games, it had a lot less filth than the wii also, I loved my gamecube, I also love my Wii, but I'm not running around saying its better than the gamecube by some great magnitude.
We've yet to see many decent RPGs on the Wii which is something the Cube excelled at. We've also seen practically zero new IPs from Nintendo besides Wii this and that, honestly I don't know where you came up with Gamecube having no "new" games as it had probably more new 1st party IP than the N64 or the Wii.
