BRPXQZME: You know anyone with recording equipment? Or can you write some good piano/synth parts via some sort of composition program (something that would end up with real instrument sounds, like Cubase, FL Studio, that kinda thing)? I'd have you do vocals too if you had some way to record and you could show me something you've done vocally.
I just got a volunteer gig working the mixing board at church. The recording quality is awful on account of the sanctuary actually being a “fellowship hall” (echoey cinder-block walls on all sides! whee! no, we probably won’t be expanding the building to the full extent of the designed floor plan any time in the next decade!), but I know how to work them suckers.
I suck at writing down compositions, and at playing them by ear. I think I’m taking music theory next semester to fix that, but for now I
do things that upset Bach in my music (any of which is extant is very old). Despite intending to get around to it for a few years now, I haven’t the foggiest how to use GarageBand (but I have a copy, because, well, Mac >_>;; ).
I’m saving up for a condenser mike setup, though.
Did you contact that drummer you mentioned?
He doesn’t really have an interest at the moment. He’ll be the first to tell you he has focus problems, so while he’s really talented, he has some PitA things he has to take care of, like school.
I’ll keep pestering him, though. That’s... kind of how I treat friends I know in person
