Update By: Morzas

This is somewhat old news, but Saya no Uta has been translated to English. Saya no Uta is a game which stars a med school student named Sakisaka Fuminori who wakes up from an accident in which both his parents died, and he's left with a new view of the world. Literally. Due to the shock of the accident, he goes insane, everything he sees is covered in blood and guts, and every human being looks like a nightmarish monster… except for one girl named Saya. The game is definitely 18+ and for the love of God, don't play it late at night.

Is this an h-game or just 18+ because of gore? If so why the hell do they have to make every visual novel an h-game? Horror visual novels are a genius idea yet I see NO games taking advantage of this format that aren't porn.

I think it's a h-game, because eroge = erotic game

I didn't expect to see "eroge" and "Lovecraft" in the same sentence.

Outside of alt.sex.cthulhu, that is.

Hahaha, I didn't expect to see this posted here. Glad to see that Saya is getting some coverage, though.

If anyone has any questions about the game or translation project, I'd be happy to answer them.

I find the disclaimer stating not to play it late at night pretty funny, cuz we ended up finalizing the patch at around 4 am one morning. Haha.

I think it's a h-game, because eroge = erotic game
“H” = “ecchi” ~= “hentai”.

Huh... so what would you call a hentai game?

H-game, eroge, 18-kin, X-rated, not for kids, NC17, for adults only, contains explicit scenes, etc. etc.

The “click through a lot of text to see new picture” genre in general is probably best described as “visual novel”.
we are in a horrible and deadly danger

AHEM!

Night of the Forget-Me-Nots

This was a horror visual novel I translated a few years back. It's freeware, and it's NOT porn. ;)

And remember kids, there's no sex in Lovecraft!
Soon the super karate monkey death car would park in my space. But Jimmy has fancy plans... and pants to match. The monkey clown horrible karate round and yummy like cute small baby chick would beat the donkey.

Morzas as in Morzas from Megaten Haven? No way, so this is what he's been up to if it is him.

I didn't translate it, I just noticed that the fact it was translated was never posted to the news here.

Actually that was the game that made me think that there should be more horror visual novels.
If you find anymore give um a translation!

Oh, there ARE actually quite a lot VN's which don't contain any pr0n. Some even freeware. Insansi did a lot of those together with other groups, see his al|together project: http://altogether.insani.org/ . Many of the really good VN's have such a good story and/or so very few hentai content in them that it doesn't matter anyway, at least to most people. Of course there are helpless perverts like myself who don't mind the H stuff at all  >:D

Mind suggesting a few that are not romance centric? I don't really care for romantic stuff.

Ok, now you got me. I must admit those without pr0n i know are all romantic in a way, even though containing a sophisticated story. And of those without romances i know nothing without sex scenes.
