I haven't tried the Metroid 99 patch, but that truly is a godsend. I hate how artificially hard Metroid is because of that (and even then, it is still probably hard).

I am having trouble getting the final fantasy V spoof to work..

I read the readme of course and it indicates that you have to patch it onto a rom that is already prepatched with RPGe's 1.1 translation.

Am I missing something here? I took the original FFV (J) rom and patched it with RPGe's 1.1 patch THEN patched it with the spoof. It's buggy.. I tried to play just the RPGe's 1.1 translation and that worked fine... but once I patched it with the spoof it gets buggy.

IPS Patch Troubleshooting:

Are you patching the correct rom?
Maybe you have a bad rom. There are a lot of these floating around. Good roms often have "[!]" in their filename, but this isn't always the case. Make sure your rom doesn't have, in particular, "{b}", or "[o]" in its filename. This post has more information on these tags.

There are different roms for different countries, too. Some games also have multiple correct versions. In the latter case, you should check the patch's readme for which rom you should use.

Is it headered or unheadered?
This one really drives people crazy. Some SNES roms have a 512 byte header, and some don't. If you're lucky, the patch you're trying to use might come with a readme specifying whether or not you need a header. Otherwise, you'll have to try it both ways. You can easily add or remove headers with NSRT (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Does your patcher work right?
Lunar IPS is generally considered the best patcher for Windows. If you're on Linux or OS X, you should try UIPS (Mac, Source). Some old programs do weird voodoo magic that breaks things, so I wouldn't recommend using anything else.

Is the patch corrupt?
This might happen occasionally. Most of the time it's not the case, but the possibility is always there.

It's definitely the header. The RPGe patch expects a headered ROM, but the FFV Spoof patch expects an unheadered ROM. So, add header to FF5j if necessary, patch to FF5e, remove header, then patch to FF5s. A little weird/annoying, but it works once you know the right combination.

I was playing BS Zelda Map 2 Restoration.
The game crashes when starting week 3 on bsnes. (I was able to play weeks 1 and 2 alright.)

SRAM from start of week 3
Played week 3 in ZSNES, tried week 4 in bsnes. It doesn't work, either.

Thanks for that tip, got it to work.

Have you guys tried this yet? I ran into version .21 of the patch where the story is completely different. He made Lenna into a slut and I played to the point where I left on Faris's ship to the wind shrine. I loled about 5 times in 10 minutes.. I thought it was great.

Then I just got this newest patch to work and I laughed (but not out loud, ha) only one time with the new patch. The final version is not quite as funny IMO. More professional sure, but not as funny.

I think you guys should try the patch tho, I'd give it ten minutes if nothing else, it's pretty cool.

I like the take on it though. So many parodies, spoofs, turn into nothing but sexual jokes and toilet humor. That is not to say there is never a place for such things, but going through 40 hours of it can get more then annoying.

On the other hand because so many spoofs are not done with anything more then a hex editor and table file a great deal of limitations fall upon the creator.

I take back what I said earlier. I continued to play both versions further and the earlier one just got dumber as it went along. It had a really funny ten minute intro, but it couldn't sustain it. The new version I am already two hours in and I am loving it. I highly recommend this guys... it's great stuff!
