Super Mario Kart: Pro Edition

(Made using MAKE)

This is a project I've been working on every once in a while. My goal is to make a SMK hack for top level time trial players that provides a challenge in GP, and in achieving perfect driving lines, while at the same time making the hack accessible (and challenging) to the casual player.

When the hack is finished, I plan on having 20 brand new courses (no remakes, and all courses will have working AI), 4 new (balanced) battle courses, and some new features that I haven't completely thought out yet.

Pretty sweet. Are you planning to modify the racers at all? ^_^

That would be one of the features i'm not sure about yet 

If I do end up modifying the racers. I'm going to modify them to look like some of the top players on the smk players page, as the main reason I'm working on this project is for them. 

Will you be changing the AI so that it can actually drive on the courses?

Last time I checked this was very hard to do, but it'd be nice to have.

I already have 7 courses with working AI.

I think I'm going to make a patch soon so people here can test the hack out so far and leave me feedback of what they think.

Welcome to the board  karterfreak, that battle track looks good. I've submitted compiled and submitted the new version of MAKE to the RHDN DB.  I've been working on a new tool for SMK hacking that will give you hack some more features.  I'll make a post about that soon.

I think this is the first genuinely decent attempt at redesigning courses because they (mostly) aren't redressings of existing courses and it actually looks like a decent amount of time went into creating them.  after alot of dissapointing kart hacks this is really nice to see.

I just finished designing MC3 (or possibly MC4), AI doesn't really work for it yet, but at least the design is done

So after a fairly long hiatus, I'm finally back. It may not be much, but I finished a battle course last night, so I figured I might as well post it.

Sorry about not updating for a while, I've been a little hooked on Left 4 Dead, as well as having to deal with other real life situations.

Looking pretty sweet there.  Its about time someone creates a legitimate SMK hack.  Can't wait to see it completed! 

Finished another track today. That leaves only 8 more tracks to go before release of the hack
