Well, they do use a lot of stolen content. For one graphics are ripped off from other games i.e Barver has some graphics from Romancing Saga 3, though not directly copied but rather someone drew something very similar. I've actually been wanting to show people this just cuz it seems interesting to me but anyways look:
Barver's Tata treetops(same pic as first page):

Romancing Saga 3's Fairy Village:
http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/saga3/sheet/10126Look similar? I'm sure that's the inspiration for this area. Here's another one, and very convincing:
One of Barver's temples:

Romancing Saga 3's Holy Temple:
http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/saga3/holytemple.pngSo what's clear is that rather than directly ripping, they tried to copy other games. Even the battle system I'm sure many notice by now looks like Breath of Fire. I've still been trying to find other games that have similar art but it's proving tough...
And besides that all of these games seem to use the same sound engine that you find in Data East's Captain Havoc. Heck, the first town theme in Yase Chaun Shuo is a direct rip of the end theme of Captain Havoc, just tuned down in pitch!
So unless someone wanted to waste a lot of money getting someone to replace all of this stuff, plus remove the sound engine and replace it with their own, and make new music at that...well, that's probably not worth the effort. There's a limit to "localization" I think, especially for any private companies like.....those guys(you know who I mean)

BTW I should ask Djinn about fixing the text on the intro. It's practically unreadable with all that other stuff in the back
