So is there a good reason why the Nintendo DS is there?
Seriously, I wonder why everyone has to question every action we take here? It always happens. Is there a reason for this kind of suspicion that drives people to ask us to explain all of our decisions?
duuuuude... I really doubt the hacking community or people savy enough to find and use rom hacks of obscure japanese rpg games would hurt the overall sales less than .01 of a percent if that. And added on to this by the time the game gets translated if it isnt listed officially I seriously doubt it ever will be officially translated (has a game ever been translated officially years after it was translated on the same console by hackers?). I mean the only psp games translated or that should be translated wont come out in english anyway. Dunno.. I'd say a written out policy would be preferable.
The issue here confuses people/kids.. but only because they want their hacks/translations immediately.. kinda like pirating the ROMs or CD images (which I am not endorsing, but it is related). What these people/kids fail to see is that the game being hacked "needs to have its day"... like being sold normally.. and if it gets a translation/hack, then great, but don't hurt your own cause (the romhacking community) by not letting the original distributor make their money. That's their perogative until the console that game is unavailable then becomes irrelevent (whether or not they will provide a translation, you can do your translation afterwards). You are still allowed to hack the game and share info (which can be in the form of a tool), but you don't want to piss off the others (the guys making the money) in the process.
