ROM Hacks: ESP Works!

Since I was bored I did a little ROM hacking for Final Fantasy Legend (GB). Using yuandy's Monster/Inventory FAQ I fixed the skill ESP, his suspected King Shield anomaly, and the famous Glass bug.

Supposedly no one knows what ESP does, but if you have a manual (like I do) it's supposed to work like a shield.  Even yuandy said that it had all the makings for block/evading, so I just set the byte.

I haven't tried these games before.  I know they are the start of the SaGa series.. I haven't tried any of them either.

Are they worth playing?

I'm a big fan of them. 1 is a very stark RPG, in all aspects, and that's what really draws me to it. 2 is much more complex and has a pretty interesting storyline, and the addition of the Robot class changes a lot of things up. 3 is the most similar to a Final Fantasy game of them all, but is still a really good RPG.

I played the first two when I was a kid (10 or 11?), so maybe nolstagia colors my views of them. I didn't play 3 until a long time later (2002, I think), but I had so much fun I beat it in one crazy ass 18 hour marathon session. 

But yeah, to get on topic, thanks for the hack, Skygor: I'll have to play through it later when I have the time.

I love those kinda hacks that fix things that are wrong with a game. Like making a game the way it was meant to be.

Sweet! That's kind of what I always thought ESP did... I didn't realize it was broken I thought it raised evasion for one turn or something (Even though evasion isn't one of the stats <_<)

Especially when you were talking to slimes. That amused me to no end.
