Translations: Dark Law released!
« on: March 28, 2007, 09:23:51 pm »

Update By: Gideon Zhi

Ten years ago today, Dark Law was unleashed unto the Japanese masses. And now, to celebrate its tenth, Aeon Genesis has made it available in English for the first time! An unbelievable amount of work has gone into making this translation look as good as it possibly can, and I think it was worth it!

Dark Law is essentially the Japanese interpretation of the pencil-and-paper RPG into a videogame format. The focus is rather heavy on exploration and light on combat, with copious amounts of storytelling thrown in for good measure. It, like Dark Lord before it, is told through a series of short stories ("Scenarios") which tie together by the final conclusion. It's a pretty cool game, on the whole.

The patch is complete and should be bug-free. Enjoy!

Staff - You can get the patch from our archives here.

Awesome.
I still remember playing the Japanese rom, it was like everybody's stuck in those first two screens and there's no clue how you can advance.
Hopefully, now it's gonna be easier.
Thanks for bringing Dark Law in English.

That's no excuse though.
But it's an explanation I though

You might not be able to understand it because your English language skills are not up to the task, or because you're not familiar with the topic.
Living in a particular country is not a reason. It could also easily be misunderstood to mean "we're all dumb here".

Reminds me of the argument I got myself into when I didn't knew what "whore" meant, and used it inappropriately.

"Banned" comme dedans, on ne vous permettra plus d'employer le forum.

(Pardonnez toutes les erreurs dans la grammaire, comme ceci a été fait en utilisant Babelfish. Je ne parle pas français.)

I understand your point of view but not the last sentence... the word "dumb"????

For somebody who is not at ease in english, it's more easy to say that "because I live in France" than "because my english language skills are not up to the task".
But I understand why you find it's not a reason.

FIRST BUG REPORT, that is unless there is one over at AGTP. Actually it's not a bug but a typo.

it says "it were unmeet for man to approach the holy place."

when it should say "it were *UNMEANT* for man to approach the holy place."

also I'd have to look at the context again but should it be 'were' or 'was'?

hope you can fix it soon. Seriously though, this is top notch work, with all the fonts etc.
