Or Japanese names on an English message boards?! I just find the recent trend of the "lol-katakana-names" to be rather annoying and board line elitist. What about the portion of the community who can't read kana? "Oh so squiggles...or was it zig-zag? Either way, someone posted a new thread..."

It's okay if they allow avatars to contest winners, donors, etc.
But I've seen a couple that don't even have a name in them. (since the avatar replaces the name, you have to check their profile to see what to call them if you respond if you don't know them)

So I'm not the only one who noticed this. What will happen if someone without Japanese support installed looks at the board? A bunch of "????" talking with each other? Well it's not harmful (yet).

It comes out somewhat like this: ]]]]$$%%???????? Except with way more weird symbols for the $'s and %.

Yeah, I'd agree somewhat on the Japanese character naming trend... Being as I don't read the language, and I'm not about to learn it just so I can read some random user names on a message board, personally, I don't see the point.

Just a last suggestion: 
Try playing this game on holidays. 

Just finished the third route - awesome game and very well done translation. Now I want to play Fate/Stay Night

So, how "ero" is this game? Or is there a patch that kills the h-game scenes?

The patch installation has that option.  You wouldn't be missing much; those scenes are rather unattractive and sparse.

They do play definite roles in the plot.  I suspect either only the images are removed or the dialogue is lessened as well but indicated and summarized efficiently.

On no route I've played so far were more than 2 ero scenes. They are shortly before the end as well and are meant a bit like a reward. You can always chose the non-ero version when patching, I guess that the sex will be mentioned then but not shown. As mil said they play quite a role in the plot.

Just got the 9th and final ending and it unlocks an additional epilogue. It pays of to play through all the routes, even for those characters one doesn't care for (Ciel :p).
