I don't think there's a term that can encompass all genre's of video game. "press start" would probably be the closest thing, and not all consoles had a start button.

Perhaps seeing the names of "the 15 most popular video game web sites" would help: http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/video-game-websites <- I mean some of those seem kind of out of left field in association to video games.
Except most of them have "game" or "gaming" in the title, if not something specific related to gaming (1up, cheat code central, joystiq). Out of that whole list, the only ones that don't, are four of the 15. Maybe 5 is you count "destructoid" as a non-gaming related title (though it certainly SOUNDS like video game related to me).

We're not trying to find a term that encompasses all of video-games. Just something that someone will see and IMMEDIATELY get images of video games. Like Backwards Compatible or Double Jump. Those aren't related to anything else but gaming.

“Backwards compatible” has to do with software in general and “double jump” is used in some sports ._.
we are in a horrible and deadly danger

Edit: Sheesh, yet another vote for Double Jump.
In that case, here's one for C-C-C-Combo Breaker!

In any case, if you want a name that lasts, then please consider holding votes longer than 1 week.

More suggestions:

Jump Attack (as a rival to Screw Attack >:D): www.jumpattack.com / www.jumpattack.net

Select Mode: www.selectmode.com / www.selectmode.net

Mode B (not sure what I was thinkin' there; just throwing it out there): www.modeb.net/

Respond Rate (okay, RPG biased): www.respondrate.com / www.respondrate.net

Or how 'bout an acronym? Like PC Arcade Console: www.pac.net HOLY MOTHER-EFFING SHIZNACK! Either it isn't taken, or it's down! :o Must... not... sit... :-\

If you want my 2 cents, .com is overrated (&, to me, sounds degrading when said aloud). .net is where it's at.

OMFGWTFNO! Session expired, did not copy paste! :banghead:
And I'll leave it at that!

I actually thought Combo Breaker would've been a great idea because it was an internet meme and most people would recognize it from that.

Hmm. Actually, I like Jump Attack a lot. PAC's not bad either.

Anyone else have opinions on those two? Would it be worth it for me to add those to the poll and restart it one last time? =/

Go for it. Can't really hurt to try. In any case, we all know who the winner of this round was (Double Jump).

Mode B (not sure what I was thinkin' there; just throwing it out there): www.modeb.net/

Was that term ever used outside of arcade ports on the NES?

Or how 'bout an acronym? Like PC Arcade Console: www.pac.net HOLY MOTHER-EFFING SHIZNACK! Either it isn't taken, or it's down! :o Must... not... sit... :-\

Probably should try to fit Handheld, or Portable in there too

For what it's worth, I don't think it would change my vote.

(You may have already answered this, but I'm not about to wade through 8 pages to find out)

Not sure, actually. I still need to do some work on it. I mean, a preliminary, barebones version of the site is already up, but it has no friendly url (it's just an IP address at this point) and it has nothing on it. So... not for a while, I guess.

Yeah, like Moulinoski said we need to get some web design stuff done first. Once that's done, we'll put a bit of content up and release the site to the public.
