Anyone heard anything new about Type 0 getting a western release?

(Hopefully still for PSP and not Vita.  Why?  Because I already have a PSP and the game was a PSP title to begin with.)

Would downloadable title still be acceptable?

Either way: No, I have not. Seems like we might not be getting it. :/

I can't think of a Final Fantasy title that's not had a stateside release, apart from the quirky Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon, or whatever it's called. The way Square's been lately, I wonder if they can afford not to localize it.

*appears* They could afford it easily. Remember, they own Eidos which publishes a lot of successful games. People need to stop forgetting this, they are more than just a publisher of Japanese games now.

Final Fantasy II (Famicom)
Final Fantasy III (Famicom)
Final Fantasy V (Super Famicom)
Before Crisis Final Fantasy VII (yes, it was a cellphone game, but they never ported it to anything else)
Chocobo's Magic Picturebook (DS) (actually most of the Chocobo games)
Final Fantasy X International (luckily it's bilingual so it can be played on an emulator, if one does not have the capability to play an import disc on real hardware)
Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission
Final Fantasy XII International
Final Fantasy Dimensions

And if you want to count them:
SaGa 2 DS
SaGa 3 DS

And it would be even more awesome if this rumor I heard of the PSP version being bilingual is true. Make me even more glad I already pre-ordered an import copy.

Well at least we did get this and this.

Oh my God! Your previous profile picture was better than this new one!! Are you trying to give everyone nightmares?!

Also, we also just got that Final Fantasy rhythm game for the 3DS. :/ Which I haven't played, but it looks like it's pointless to begin with... although, what music game isn't pointless (Taiko DS 3 has an RPG mode, though!)

I think he was referring to overall releases, I.E. we eventually got the true FF4, we got FF3 in a DS game that is apparently a fairly close remake of the original aside from the new scenes and 3D graphics, etc.

Also, if you want to cheat, FFX International got an English release in the UK.

0 doesn't fit in the main series anyway. It makes sense they renamed it from Final Fantasy Agito XIII, it doesn't really have anything to do with XIII. I played through the Japanese demo, and while it definitely was fun, it's not like it was a revelation or anything.

Please tell me that they is no need for that mognet crap to get all the special items. Is there any added FMV to the psp version? I already have the DS version but might have to get this game.

As detailed last week, the PSP version of FFIII is based off the DS remake, with some additions from the iOS version. FFIII fans can look forward to 16x9 support, a gallery mode with BGM and illustrations, the option for switching to the original Famicom/NES music, and an auto battle option that doubles the battle speed to two times.
