Did that Samurai Spirits RPG translation ever get finished?
« on: April 06, 2012, 10:46:37 pm »
A stupid question perhaps, but I haven't heard anything about this in a really long time.
This depresses me. I feel like a goldfish right now...

The long answer: read the first Google result for "samurai shodown rpg translation". :P
The short answer: not yet.

He used to update here often, but some drama happened. :/ He is a cool guy though.
Who will quote me next?

He’s been kind of busy with that Ys stuff, is my (kind of unfounded) guess as to why he has not given an update in a while.

As for why he does not update here, the polite way to put it is that he had a disagreement with the moderation, and decided not to.

Well, yeah, but there's no recent news available that way either, unless I'm missing something.

But it's still alive?  With DNF out of the way, I guess it comes down to this, The Fool and His Money, and Black Mesa Source.   :D

The long answer does not really answer much. I just want to know if this project is going to be finished at some point. I realize the guy is a one man team but would like to know if he stopped work on it for good or not.

IMO Ys is a higher priority anyways but we all have different opinions

He gets paid for Ys translations, though, right?

Only the ones that get an official release, of course, but yeah.
And with Felghana released on Steam now and Ys Origin to follow...
He's also helped with other parts of those, like achievement ideas.

I would love to see SamSho RPG done eventually though.
I wish him luck on that.
Ooh, they said this planet was cold, but it's sooo hot here!

for sure, I'd love to see as much done as possible but I can understand and am happy with the work he's currently doing.

I am happy he's doing something he likes doing. There's too many people out there doing things they don't want to do... Wake up early, go to work, hate your life, go back home, sleep, rinse and repeat with no fulfillment.

I heard the people  off NeoGeo.com  ruined it for him, they made fun of him and he quit out of spite.

Yes, I remember something about that too, vaguely; hence my query.

I guess no one's going to comment on the odd timing regarding that last one? ;)

I thought I saw him say something along the lines that, since he now does translation as his job, there's not as much desire to go home and do more of it there.

I like this planet. I don't like some of the creatures that live on this planet: Bugs and a lot of human beings.

But I don't hate the planet. That'd be like hating the criminal rather than hating the crime.

Edit: I notice you changed your sig to another quote of mine. Am I really that quotable? :P I just find it funny...

if you watched that episode of Futurama you would understand. It wasn't that he didn't like the planet, he was just surrounded by people that stood against everything he believed in and there was no way he could do anything about it so he just decided to leave, because, in his case, he actually could live on another planet.

That was the sentiment.

and yes, you are quotable, in a good way.
