FF4 Long Range Fix (Bug Fix)(Final Fantasy IV)(SNES)
This mean, that normally, you would be able to equip a long range weapon, re-equip a normal weapon, and inflict full damage to your enemies while you only take half damage ?

How could such an awesome exploitable bug be undocumented for so long ?

Jean the frog has always been the whipping boy of Breath of Fire 2 particularly for his lack of use. While I can't say I ever got that far in Breath of Fire 2, I'm assuming this got fixed so he's a little more useful.

It was documented... many years late.

That doesn't even begin to address the "no critical hits" bug. Equip a weapon that has that bit enabled, and never dish a critical hit ever again!

Now that you mention it I don't remember having much critical hits in FF4, exept from Cecil, so I guess you're right.

And yeah FF4 had definitely one of the weakest battle system of the series. OK it invented ATB but other than that the system is basic and uninteresting, a step backwards from FF3 where you had to change classes. However FF4 is good at other things so it's allright I guess.

I know too much that I'd like to admit to.. but that doesn't mean there isn't more to find...

That doesn't even begin to address the "no critical hits" bug. Equip a weapon that has that bit enabled, and never dish a critical hit ever again!

Not only that, when a character is temporarily removed from the party (for a cut scene), they permanently lose critical hits as well!
So everyone loses it for the Spoony Bard cutscene, the Tellah vs Golbez cutscene, the Edge fighting Rubicant cutscene (except Edge), then finally the Fusoya & Golbez vs Zemus cutscene.

This means that Cecil (and Lydia) looses it during the Spoony Bard cutscene, and never does critical hits ever again ? Not even when Cecil becomes a Paladin and when Rydia becomes adult ?

Then this means at the end of the game, only Edge still have critical hits, but he has them removed before the last battle ? Talk about silly programming.
