We play on an emulator, and just have two methods of input doing the same thing.
That's actually a rather unique, and good idea.

I guess I should have clarified a bit more. LAN required co-op games aren't really what I was talking about. I meant games that you can either play on the same PC/Console simultaneously, or games which can work locally over PSP or DS (adhoc / wireless). Kaio is right, almost exclusively the games will be hack'n'slash. I was hoping there might be some that are turn based or strategical. I'm not really sure if anything like that exists. I initially thought of stuff using the
Dark Alliance engine, or
Phantasy Star Portable on PSP. On that note I have to mention being quite irked that
Phantasy Star Zero doesn't offer wireless co-op on the DS, only online, what fail. And why the heck can't
Dragon Quest IX support local co-op in story mode from beginning to end? That'd be grand. If
Soma Bringer and
Dokapon Kingdom can do this...
I was hoping to find out about rarer games I didn't know about that were RPGs of some sort, that were local co-op. For example, I just learned recently that the PS1 version of
Diablo supports local co-op on the same screen. I just learned recently also, that the Xbox and Gamecube version of
Phantasy Star Online support split screen co-op full campaign. It's stuff like that I'm trying to find. Doesn't matter if it's old or new, I'm trying to make an extensive list.
