Game Music from HELL

Here is le topique: Do you have a particular piece of video game music that you just plain can't stand to hear anymore? It doesn't have to be a bad piece of music, just something you've heard so many times that you might gouge your eardrums out with a dull pencil if you had to hear it one more time?

Mine is the Veldt theme from Final Fantasy VI. "Drums...drums in the deep..."

Wow I love both "bloody tears" and "The Veldt".

Game music I can't stand :
- The winning "techno" of Mega Man 2
- The suck-ass dungeon theme of Breath of Fire 2
- The terrible frog castle music of Breath of Fire 2
- Norfair in Metroid (one of the worst music ever composed)

Now that you mention it I remember that although I love SOM's sountrack I agree this one is particuarly terrible and annoying.

Anyway, here's some of the stuff I hate:

- The monkey cave theme from Earthbound
- Pretty much every theme from Lufia 1
- That hide and seek theme from one of the Zelda Oracle games
- Protoman's theme (fuck those high-pitched squeals used in the intro)

The thing with Bloody Tears is that it's basically super overplayed. It's in just about every Castlevania that pulls music from other games in the series, and every indie remixer and their cousin has done something to it. IT'S GODDAMN OVERPLAYED ALREADY PICK SOMETHING ELSE there's *tons* of great Castlevania music out there that isn't Bloody Goddamn Tears. Like this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or...

-1942 morse code music
-Forest Temple <- not actually bad music, but gets really annoying when it keeps repeating

Eh, just 'cause it's overplayed doesn't mean that it's not good.    But I'll definitely agree that there are tons of great tunes in the Castlevania series.  By the way, I highly recommend the Dracula Battle CDs to anyone who hasn't heard 'em.

As for maddening "music", the constant droning of Cybernoid is horrible.  The Adventures of Rad Gravity also comes to mind.  I started to say Treasure Master, but realized the music is the only thing that was good about the game.  Thanks, Tim Follin.

EDIT:  Can I add a tune that creeps me the heck out?  If so, the Stage 6 Music from Double Dragon II.

That weird town's music from Suikoden V.  I think it's supposed to suck based on the characters' dialogue, but man oh man...

And I forgot to mention Otherworld from FFX- I - cannot - stand - this - style - of - music - and the fact Uematsu fell so low is probably the worst part of it.

I've actually always found that piece soothing, and I love having it on in the background while I study. City In The Sky on the other hand, drives me utterly bonkers, if only because the Oocca's mutterings.
