^I just figured he meant visual novels, not so much text adventures/interactive fiction.
That said, I can still at least think of the Spellcasting 101 series as English visual novels. I'm sure there's a lot more from the DOS era, I'm just not overly familiar with PC gaming.
And lol at the guy who said who cares about mood, graphics and presentation.... this is VIDEO GAMING did you forget that its supposed to be interactive multimedia?
I don't think any media is "supposed" to be anything, it just is what it is. You go for what you like, and ignore what you don't like.
I don't get immersed in mood/setting in 2600 games, but I still have a lot of fun playing them. To me, that's all that really counts.
