What was your first programming language?

I tried to pick up some Pascal over the years, but it was basically a dead language even when I was a young teenager, so I saw little point getting into it in depth.

Indeed. I've never touched it since that High School class. Although, most of the semantics of it transferred over to my training in the USMC as an ADA programmer... but then got to my duty station and found they didn't use it there (and thus, never touched ADA again either).

I've been learning stuff on the fly ever since.

Why, LOGO was all the rage back in elementary school way back when.  Some of the upper year students were doing some pretty impressive-looking things in it, but I never got that far, alas.  Actually, before we moved on to Appleworks, we used it as a primitive word processor, possibly because of its large font size.

Still, I think I was using BASIC before then.

Although I technically knew a little C since I was 13, the first real language I developed any proficiency with was 6502 asm when I was 15, so I checked assembly languages. After I came back to C (and later C++), everything made so much sense to me that I felt like I was cheating. Now it's nothing to pick up another assembly language or read through an unfamiliar programming language if I have some sort of reference documentation on hand for it. If it weren't for romhacking I probably would've never developed into the programmer that I am today. 

Hah, I remember Lego Logo! I saw some stuff being run on it at my elementary school and it was pretty impressive. I wanted to learn but it never happened, for whatever reason.

Cobol and basic.

6502 for me. I pretty much know like the back of my hand these days. I also know a bit of the modified Z80 processor for the GB.

Haskell, in my freshman year

I learned with Visual Basic and Commodore 64 basic when I was about 12, then I moved to 6502 assembly and then to so many other languages I couldn't list all of them.

I learned Visual Basic in High School. That was my first real computer course ever, despite having taken computer electives since Middle School, 6th Grade.
