Translations: Brandish 2 English translation out now!

Best launch trailer ever!

I like to think of Brandish as Vagrant Story's ancestor. It's a really solid, well-designed (ie not randomly-generated) 3rd person dungeon crawler. The one thing is that you have to get used to the control scheme. Once it's done, it's a very addictive.

Also, there are still a ton of untranslated Snes RPGs.

Not really. Tales games have a 50% chance of coming out, and ToI is already a few years old.

Also, Brandish PSP was released just eight months ago. There's still time.

According to RPGamer, they've found a financial report from Falcom that indicates they are planning on a bunch of their properties being released on PSP in North America.
Brandish is among them.

Yes, just one ending.

I'm cautiously optimistic on Brandish PSP making it here one of these days, but it'll be interesting to see what names they use. Of course whoever works on it will probably opt for the original Japanese names (Ares, Dela). Nah, what I'd like to know is if some publisher will play through our Brandish 2 patch to see how we've adapted the story. Some minor changes we made that reference Brandish 1 include BTOWL -> Bytohl and Gadobistlle-> God (King) Bistall. The US release had those as Berimya and Berberus respectively.

Otherwise there's very little relation between Brandish 1 and Brandish 2... at least until the PSP version. They added an extra sidequest that was briefly but directly referenced in Brandish 2... 15 years ago. Maybe it was part of the PC98 version and ripped in the SFC port, I couldn't tell you, or maybe it was in the Brandish novel but scrapped in the game.

Oh by the way there's a Brandish Restoration Patch up on RHDN... what are the odds that two Brandish patches would hit in the same month?

Pick your poison... I think both of them have the last boss on his last leg though. These were used for dev. purposes (i.e. testing the ending).
