In The Game of Life, the strong survive...

03 February 2019 7:10AM EST - Update by cccmar

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

… well, this game doesn’t have much to do with Scorpions, but if you ever wanted to become a journalist, a businessman or a wrestler, now is your chance! This little game is a blend of an RPG, a board game and, to some extent, a gambling game. You need to fulfill various objectives to advance your career, gain stats and work your way towards the top of the ladder eventually. It’s a pretty simple game that was mostly finished a while ago, but for various reasons could only be release now. There are many games within this franchise, for all major consoles, but most of them are just straight-up board games instead. So, without further ado, have fun!

Villgust FC (re)translated!

30 September 2018 6:50AM EST - Update by cccmar

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

After some work, the retranslation of Kouryuu Densetsu Villgust Gaiden was finally completed. This franchise is based on an old toy line used to play a tabletop RPG. It spawned an OVA, two games and some other types of media. It was decided that this game would be a good candidate for a retranslation (there are a couple more games like that from the early period of romhacking). It’s a pretty simple action RPG, and hopefully the potential players will enjoy the efforts to give it some more polish.

Also, additionally, congrats to Pluvius/Eien Ni Hen/Filler on completing the patch for Outlanders, yet another franchise that got its own anime adaption!

Detective Sanma/Idol Hakkenden translations are out!

15 September 2018 3:32AM EST - Update by cccmar

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Supper, TheMajinZenki and cccmar are proud to present 2 translation patches for FC adventure games, Detective Sanma and Idol Hakkenden.

Detective Sanma is a quirky murder mystery adventure title with Sanma Ayakashi as the main protagonist (besides the player). You need to solve the mystery in a typical Portopia fashion, but with a lot of wacky events and characters thrown in.

Idol Hakkenden on the other hand is an adventure game in which you control Erika Saionji, an up-and-coming idol, who wants to win the family inheritance in a skill competition. Again, it’s quite a quirky adventure game, with a cool soundtrack (the game was developed by Natsume - one of their only 2 adventure games for the system to our knowledge) and some unexpected twists and turns. We almost made it in time for the game’s 29th b-day, too. ;)

We also have a few unannounced projects in the pipeline that shouldn’t take too long to get completed. So, stay tuned for some news and in the meantime have fun with the games!

War of the Dead (PCE) translation patch... happy 30th anniversary!

06 December 2017 11:04AM EST - Update by cccmar

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Hello everyone! This is a little commemoration project we came up with a couple of weeks ago. The original War of the Dead was released 30 years ago for MSX2. We figured we’d translate the PCE version though, as it’s likely one of the more playable ports. Despite quite a few gameplay differences, the story in each version is the same. The game is quite unusual in its setting, being a horror-themed action RPG that came out before the likes of much more well-known games, such as Sweet Home. Either way, here it is - we hope you enjoy it. Be sure to check the readme/text version of the manual for additional tips/pieces of advice!

Ganbare Goemon Gaiden: Kieta Ougon Kiseru patch is out!

17 June 2017 8:06AM EST - Update by cccmar

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

“Ganbare Goemon Gaiden: The Missing Golden Pipe” (gaiden meaning tale/side story/legend) is the first GGG RPG for the Famicom. It’s well-known for being the first turn-based RPG in the series, for introducing certain recurring characters, and for being even more wacky than the earlier games in the series. Now, thanks to Mr Fwibbles of Adventurous Translation the game can be enjoyed in English. So, without further ado, have fun!

Out Live your enemies...

… or at least try to in this first-person dungeon crawler by Sunsoft, released on TG16 in 1989. We had this project in mind a while ago, and we managed to follow through with it before the end of 2016. So, here’s your Christmas gift (if you like dungeon crawlers starring giant robots, that is). ;)

Special thanks go to Gamerhenky for playtesting the game and helping us polish some stuff therein! So, without further ado, enjoy. :)

Vixen 357 is out!

03 October 2016 6:10AM EST - Update by cccmar

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Vixen 357 is now in English for your enjoyment! We believe that it was deserving of a translation patch, as it is definitely one of the better SMD strategy games left in Japan. We hope you will enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed working on it.

We would like to thank all the beta testers and everyone who supported us during the translation process. Well, ‘nuff said - have fun!

Star Cruiser (SMD) - Public Beta is Out!

03 September 2016 2:31AM EST - Update by cccmar

Translations News

Star Cruiser is a first-person action role-playing game developed by Arsys Software and released in Japan for the PC-88 and Sharp X1 home computers in 1988. The game was ported by Arsys Software to the NEC PC-98 and Sharp X68000 computer platforms in 1989, and then ported by Masaya (NCS) to the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis home console in 1990.

The version we chose to work on is, as you could easily guess by the headline, the SMD version. The game is notable for its 3D polygon graphics, a really good, catchy soundtrack and a fairly interesting plot filled with unexpected occurrences and twists of fate.

We decided to go with the open beta for a variety of reasons (we’re going to release a complete patch later down the road). There were some issues with pointers, so some parts may have ended up getting mixed in the process. We also need some help with certain parts of the script, and we may have missed some tiny bits of text. Should you want to help, click the Relevant Link, grab the patch and report all the issues that you can find to either me or celcion. Thanks for attention and have fun!
