This is a fairly useless hack - it simply makes the copier ROM playable on an emulator.
I did it for the nostalgia - the SNES unit my brother bought had a Super UFO. Needless to say, many summer nights were spent loading up games from this copier’s menu.
What I did was basically NOP out instructions that were causing infinite loops, these were most likely disk access checks. I was also having trouble getting the sound to work until I discovered a routine that for some reason was copying the sound init code to non-existent memory (probably on-board custom RAM).

A full scale hack of Final Fantasy, nothing remains but the core programming routines. It features all new graphics, music, levels, enemies, text, statistics and more. Think of it as a “Total Conversion” for the NES.
Up to this point, there were two versions of the game: v1.26 and Easy Type. Both lines are now merged as of this version, which should be the absolute last release barring any earthshattering problems (v1.30 has been thoroughly tested, so this should not be an issue, we hope).
SRAM files from either v1.26 or Easy Type should function properly with v1.30, but save states may be broken due to the animated water routines.

Because it’s so weak, FuSoYa’s Regen command in FFIV is not really worth using; it only restores 10 HP per phase, for a total heal of about 100 HP. At the point in the game where he joins your party, this is pretty pathetic. This patch increases the HP recovery of the command to 255 HP per phase, for a total heal of 2000-2500 HP.

Anyone who has played FFIV knows that Edward’s Medicine/Heal command is pretty useless, since it splits a Potion among 5 people. That’s like sharing a slice of pizza with your whole family — and who wants to do that? So I’ve created a patch that will increase the HP recovery done by this command, into the 60-90 HP range. Now everybody can have a slice.

I’ve been working on a Willow ROM hack that will implement a save game feature into a game that previously used passwords. I’m doing this just to take a crack at NES hacking, and because I read somewhere that Willow was supposed to use battery backed RAM, but instead used a password system in order to cut production costs.
I also want to implement a feature to “skip” the dialog text and also a “run” button. Source code will be freely available to help anyone else out there looking to play around with the good old NES.
Currently, I have completed my Proof-of-concept hack, and I now have a Willow ROM that allows saving current progress by pressing SELECT-B and resuming the saved game by selecting PASS WORD in the opening screen, or CONTINUE after losing all your HP.

It’s finally done. Thanks to those who encouraged me to finish this hack. All the levels are edited to add more of an action oriented feel to Lolo2. Lolo fans will get their fix with this hack. There is now one more Lolo hack to add into the mix. Special thanks goes to bbitmaster for his editor Neptune. If it weren’t for him this hack wouldn’t exist. Enjoy…
