Dynamic Designs has released a fully playable translation patch for Golf Daisuki!: O.B. Club. The game itself is a fun little sports game that plays like a cross of regular and miniature golf. The courses feel like they’ve been ripped right out of crazy miniature golf style games but it has some things that are typically found more in regular golf games. Stuff like Reading the green and many holes having no boundaries to keep you in bounds. It also features sand traps and water hazards like would typically be found in regular golf. JPS is a web app that can apply IPS patches (Firefox, Chrome and Opera only for now).

JPS aims at providing an easier experience for people who are new to using ROM hacks: no need to install a patcher that depends on the platform, instead you just follow a link and use a web page. Visiting JPS also installs it, which allows it to be used while offline: if you bookmark it, then load the bookmark later, this will run JPS regardless of whether you are currently connected. In other words, JPS tries to combine the best of web apps and desktop apps.

JPS is the result of a lot of work to try and support as many existing IPS patches as possible. Have fun trying many new ROM hacks using JPS!

After being announced a few weeks ago, the translation patch for ‘BS Super Aleste’ is now out!

Though this is v1.0 of the patch, it has achieved most of the original goals for the project. Namely, all Japanese text in-game has been fully translated; all “Engrish” has been cleaned up; AND the patched ROM will now function as a standalone SNES ROM, without need of the BS-X BIOS or a compatible emulator!

There are still many other things that will hopefully be implemented in future patches, so stay tuned! In the meantime, the translator truly hopes this will be seen as the definitive version of ‘Super Aleste’/'Space MegaForce’!

Strobenz has released his first ROM hack of the Lode Runner [Color] series. Using the Lode Funner tool made by Disch, 41 of the 50 original levels were completely remade, while the other 9 have been tweaked to be harder than before. Lode Runner is a simple game; the goal is to grab all pieces of gold and escape the mine. To do this, the player is equipped with a ray gun that digs holes on bricks. Digging such holes is essential for the game to be beaten. There’s at least one enemy in each level, which the player must either avoid, trap in holes or use as a tool to reach all of the gold!

The original game itself isn’t really that easy, and Lode Runner Blue takes it to another level by featuring up to six enemies on each level (instead of the regular three), plus complex and difficult brick arrangements, especially on the final levels.

It is strongly recommended that you play the original Lode Runner first if you’re unfamiliar with it, because Lode Runner Blue can surely be frustrating at some points! The last three levels are the most difficult ones in the entire hack! Think you can get that far and beat them?

Dynamic-Designs has released a fully playable English patch for Demon Child Zenki: Battle Raiden AKA Kishin Douji Zenki: Battle Raiden. This is a fun and at times challenging platformer for Super Nintendo with some pretty nice graphics. It is definitely recommended that you let the intro cycle a few times until the controls explanation starts as there are special moves that are required to finish the game which are explained during the controls explanation. And this can only be seen by letting the intro cycle a few times.
