The new update for Shadowrun 2058 is now available! For those who still do not know this mod, Shadowrun 2058 is a mod whose main objective is to get even closer to the fictional universe of Shadowrun; To achieve this, the developer had to study several publications of said franchise in order to try to reflect as best as possible the rules and elements of these games.

Obviously, the most important thing in a game is that it be fun, right? That is why a constant effort has been made to implement improvements and correct errors (even within the same modifications made previously), in order to increase the gaming experience.

That is why, as this version has many new improvements, some modifications made in previous versions prevail and others do not; as is the case of the improvement of “increasing enemy encounters” that is linked to an infamous glitch; Many users have been able to overcome this bug by following the directions in the readme file, but others have not; So to provide a better experience for everyone, a small optional patch has been added to the download file that when installed in any version of “Shadow run” or “Shadowrun 2058″, it will activate the function of “increasing enemy encounters”.

This has been a long project that has been refined over time, so the developer hopes that this hack will be liked by users and that it will amuse anyone who decides to give it a try.

Tonight, the Shredder will still dine on turtle soup, but the TMNT have more of a fighting chance! With eskayelle / Double Z’s custom code dilemma solved, full life bars are restored. A player’s first life, however, is reduced to create the challenge that follows below.

  • In a one-player game, you begin with one life and one health point. A roast chicken and a 1up are hidden on the first screen. Choose your moves wisely, and start your journey with two full lives. Fail to solve the puzzle, and you could lose everything.
  • In a two-player game, two brothers must decide who will take the chicken and who will take the 1up. Will you work together to ensure each turtle can kick shell with at least one full life, or will you sacrifice your friend and make a grab for all the prizes? (There are at least two cooperative solutions to the puzzle…)

How long will you last? Download the new patch, apply it to a clean SOR2 rom, and find out!

Another Megaman 1 hack is out for the public

This is what happens when you search up your very old folders. Anyway, this is Megaman 1 - Limbo Edition, an old romhack that have been worked out in 2017 and finally had its time to shine. Modified weapons, level design, palettes, damage tables, no music and a fair and fun challenge awaits you. Also, the IPS file is fixed now as well. Enjoy.

Pokemon Yellow - 151

Pokémon Yellow - 151 makes all 151 Pokémon obtainable in-game with well thought-out placements, enables Pikachu to learn SURF (for the mini game, battle, and world travel), changes all direct references to real world places and animals to Pokémon-canon alternatives, changes two VERY minor places on the map for quality of life reasons, and retains as much vanilla Yellow as possible: difficulty, dialogue, etc…

All wild Pokémon missing from Yellow were added into appropriate routes from Red and/or Blue. For any Pokémon that needed new places, plenty of consideration has been given to location and rarity. No Pokémon have a 1% spawn rate - Some are pretty rare (4%/5%), but nothing insane.

All in-game trades have been redone, complete with new nicknames. The nicknames of the new trades were thought about very carefully so that they were very live-with-able. Attempts were made to use names of Pokémon that have appeared in the Pokémon Adventures manga or TV show, or have a nice ties which the original translator might have made.

VERY minor changes to text eliminate real world locations and animals. In these instances, the project does its best to select appropriate Pokémon world counterparts which tie the games even closer together. For example players will find that Lt.Surge, “The Lightning American,” is now known as “The Lightning Unovan” - something which has since become officially canon. Other than future game references like this, the project attempts to make edits so minor that even seasoned players may not even notice the changes. The slight edits aim to tie Yellow into the Pokémon world more, and to the real world less.

The author really hopes that players try to do the play-through WITHOUT reading the “SPOILER DESCRIPTION” at the bottom of the Read Me file. All Pokémon will be found - players need simply to play through the game like normal.

Final Fantasy V: Legend of the Crystals v2.1 Update

Welcome one and all to Final Fantasy V: Legend of the Crystals, version 2.1.

This is a major update, going over nearly all the text in the game in some way shape or form. It is a continuation of a project started by Spooniest in 2014 and picked back up by him and vivify93 (hence “Spoonify93″) using Noisecross’ Final Fantasy 5e Text Editor on January 27 of 2021. It is presented for your amusement.

The general idea was:

  • Match the tone of a SNES game in 1993 in English, as a rule of thumb. There is no swearing (with the exception of one monster name which may be considered a pg rated swear word).
  • Try to give the characters personality through the use of English idioms and sayings, while trying not to stray too far from the meaning and phrasing which is in the RPGe original (on which it is based, special thanks to harmony7 and MyriaKitty).
  • Standardize all monster names, spell names, job names and ability names in the dialogue with the menu.
  • Standardize formatting of text in dialogues and in non-ironic communications from the game (”Instructions,” ‘pull this lever’ et al).
  • Eliminate excessive abbreviation where possible.
  • Use GBA lines where it was deemed they were already too good not to use.

The Poem of Light, thanks to vivify93’s determination and sharp eye, has now been corrected to scroll more or less smoothly on and off screen, and be centered like the Japanese Version.

Mega Man 4: Free of Charge

Mega Man 4: Free of Charge is a hack that removes the charge shot, often considered to have broken the pace of the classic Mega Man gameplay. It also lowers HP on a number of enemies to around the level of their MM2/3 counterparts (Capcom buffed a lot of enemies into bullet-sponge territory in order to make the charge shot useful) and makes various other small changes to try to restore the tempo of the earlier games.

Double Dragon II - The Revenge (Remastered) Sega Genesis This patch improves all the color palettes in this game to make it look better by removing dull colors in backgrounds and sprites! This version 1.3 adds more colors to sprites. Replace sprites of enemy characters and mosaics of rocks, walls and scenes with others of higher quality and better finish.

A full English translation of the 2008 NDS game Spice and Wolf: My Year with Holo (based on the hit light novel/anime series of the same name) has been released!

The first of two Japan-exclusive games for the console, My Year with Holo follows the adventures of the player, an uncanny look-alike of series’ protagonist Kraft Lawrence, on his travels with harvest deity-cum-giant wolf Holo, as they travel around seeking clues to the whereabouts of Holo’s long lost hometown.

Part business simulator, part dating game, it features an interesting mix of trading and romance mechanics alongside a non-linear story with 12 possible endings. Take the reins to explore the charms of a pseudo-Medieval world, with Wisewolf Holo as your travel guide!

Colorblind support for Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine: DX Edition

The improvements hack for “Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine: DX Edition” has been updated to Version 2.0! Go and check it out!

One feature that has been added is a colorblind mode (based on this Sonic Mania mod: https://gamebanana.com/skins/161232) for people who have:

  • Tritanopia (Missing S-cone - blue)
  • Deuteranopia (Missing M-cone - green)
  • Protanopia (Missing L-cone - red)

Just go to the OPTIONS section, and under COLORBLIND MODE, select the required filter to use. Currently only the palettes used by the beans and options text have been updated, but this should help with identifying the beans on the playing field.

What are you waiting for? Go and capture those beans!
