Crimson Nocturnal was created to be something enjoyable and, in a way, educational for those of us that worked on the projects. Gamers getting great games that they would have never played otherwise was just an added bonus.
In the game translation community, you have three different groups of people. There are the people that get involved and do their part and are a real asset to the projects. You have the people that don’t or can’t be involved directly with the projects, but they sit on the sidelines and are supportive and understanding and patient. Then you have those that think that these projects are something they’re entitled to, that they should get it when they want it and how they want it.
The third and last group are the real cancer of the community. You do your best to ignore them and pretend they do not exist, but in the end they’re still there whining and bitching and complaining about every little thing that doesn’t go their way.
These projects take a lot of time, focus, and dedication. It siphens away pretty much all of your free time and even occasionally eats into the rest of your time. The only thing that keeps you going on these projects is the enjoyment and the learning process of the projects.
Having to continually read comments about how you haven’t updated enough, or released anything in X amount of time. Having to deal with people whine and complain about something that costs them nothing at all wears on you.

Tomato has released his completed translation for the Mother 1 part of Mother 1+2 for GBA.
Tomato re-translated the script himself. He also hacked the game himself, with a little help from other EB fans like Jeffman.
New to this translation is an “Easy Ring” Tomato programmed into the game, to address complaints that Mother 1 had too much grinding. The player can choose to equip this to double EXP and money received from fights.
The game includes a very basic menu hack of Mother 2, designed for functional playability for players who already know EarthBound’s story and plot progression.

Fifteen years to the day after its Japanese launch and twelve years after the project started back in 1999, Aeon Genesis and satsu have finally completed an English translation for The Adventures of Hourai High, a silly little RPG for the SNES. An extreme amount of effort went into rewiring the guts of this game to get it looking good in English, so we hope you enjoy it!

Aridia, a ROM editor for Phantasy Star III, has been updated to version 2.1. The major recent changes are:
- Identified just about every palette in the game - cinemas, sprites, portraits, overworld, dungeons, enemies and more
- Added descriptions for enemy animations
- Upgraded to .NET 4
- Increased the size of the window and most fields
- Added feature to create IPS files
- Changed permissions to allow other applications to open a ROM being edited in Aridia in read-only mode
- Added warning message if something other than a Phantasy Star III ROM image is opened
- Removed troublesome text validations for text editing
- Removed the Level Template field from the Characters tab because its intended purpose is served by the Level Tables tab
As always, Aridia is 100% free and open-source.

The first release candidate of SBWin 3.0, the SEGA Genesis (Megadrive) ROM conversion utility, has been released. This version will probably be the last before version 3.0 stable. The following features were added:
- Options screen (various options can be turned on or off)
- Path column for conversion queue
- Settings are stored in a configuration file
- Scheduled update checking
