The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX was released for Gameboy Color in 1998. It is an enhanced version of the original Link’s Awakening released for Gameboy in 1993. During this generation, the “Hero Mode” feature was not yet officially created by Nintendo.
Hero Mode in the Zelda series usually means increased difficulty. For example, recovery hearts will not drop from enemies after killing them, nor by cutting all that lush green grass. Fairies that normally restore a large portion of the player’s health no longer appear, as well. With increased damage (up to x4) from enemies, this leaves the player with great challenges if they want to beat the game without dying.
This hack was going to be released alongside IcePenguin’s upcoming “Nightmares of Koholint Island” hack, but the decision was made to release it separately since the changes are plentiful, and it definitely offers enough to make the experience new and different. In addition to having an increased difficulty, some new content has been added. There are many new secret treasures to find, new bonus areas to explore, and even a powerful new sword!

Kemco’s NES ports of Icom’s MacVenture games were some of the very, very few console games officially available in Swedish in the late 80’s and early 90’s. They are cherished memories of many Swedes, partly due to the intensely atmospheric gameplay, partly due to the endearingly cheesy translations.
At least the first two of them are – the third game in the series, Uninvited, never got a translation, and was indeed never released at all in PAL territories. Thus, the trilogy was never completed.
25 years after the American version was released in June of 1991, this has finally been remedied. Now, Swedish speakers can enjoy the third part of the beloved series in this 100% complete translation that attempts to adhere to mostly the same style as the official translations of Shadowgate and Deja Vu.
The translation was completed as a one-man job by einride. This was his first real ROM hacking/translation job, but in the span of about a month, including testing, it was completed with no major issues. Since the game text is compressed, the translation required reverse-engineering many aspects of the ROM format and the development of custom tools for script extraction and insertion. These tools will be released at a later date.

It all started towards the end of 2014, when we found the translation tools created by Baha Bulle, a French romhacker.
Then we formed a translation team: Green goblin as main translator, gadesx and xulikotony as co-translators, and Albertutxo as graphics translator.
After months and months of hard work, we present the first completed translation of this game into Spanish. This is a very unique RPG created by Squaresoft in 1999-2000. Enjoy!

Here is a full Beta patch for the game Wizardry Empires II: Oujo no Isan also known as Legacy of the Princess for the Windows PC version of this game.
Currently we believe we have 95% of the text completed but there may be imperfections, misspellings, and bugs which are currently being looked for during testing at the moment.
Enjoy the translation and stay tuned for the Wizardry Chronicles translation which will be the next one to he completed hopefully within a month from now.

Here is an announcement that Kaettekita Mario Bros. for the FDS has been translated to English!
This originally was a small upgrade to the original Mario Bros. Kaettekita Mario Bros. (Also known as Return of the Mario Bros.) was one of the few Famicom Disk System games available exclusively from the Famicom Disk Writer and not sold separately. In Kaettekita Mario Bros., Mario and Luigi gained the ability to change direction slightly in mid-air, and the graphics were tweaked to look more like the arcade version. Taking advantage of its disk format, the game let you register your name and saved the top five high scores.
Kaettekita Mario Bros. appears to have been sponsored by Nagatanien, a Japanese food company. After selecting the number of players, the game displayed one of three short cut-scene advertisements for Nagatanien products, including one for Super Mario Bros. 3 furikake (dried food sprinkled over rice). The first time you lose all your lives in the “Nagatanien World” mode, you play a slot machine for the chance to continue where you left off with all your points; match two Marios or Luigis for one extra life, three Marios or Luigis for two extra lives, or spell out Naga-tani-en for a whopping four extra lives.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends Maeson is a hack for Skies of Arcadia: Legends… Why yes, the author is still pretty bad with names.
Skies of Arcadia is a turn based J-RPG originally developed for the Dreamcast by Overworks. Later it was ported to the Gamecube, with improvements here and there, new content and the Dreamcast DLC added too. This hack is for the Gamecube version.
About the game itself, Skies of Arcadia: Legends is a lighthearted turn based J-RPG that combines your standard monster fighting with ship battles, set in a fantastical world of floating lands, airships and treasures… And Air Pirates. Lots of those.
This hack attempts to improve upon the original game by increasing its low difficulty, and balancing several aspects of the game like the abilities and spells each character can learn, or nerfing healing items, for example.
In short, SOALM tries to give a new feeling to the original Skies of Arcadia: Legends.
There’s a ridiculously long Readme for anyone who has interest in this, with details and info on this hack and the game itself.
