fixed the URL that someone else added to my previous submission. not sure why the NINJA disclaimer is needed at all? it's not like the online ROM patcher doesn't support it

This game was released in the US in 2019 as Trials of Mana. Because that is the earliest official English title I changed it to Primary Title.

Finished SNES platformer game English translation slithers by.

19 October 2006 1:14PM EST - Update by KingMike

Translations News

I’ve released another patch for Jelly Boy 2 for the SNES. This should be the finished patch. It includes Chris Covell’s enhanced title screen, as well as a couple small graphic changes over the previously released finished version.

I’ve included both IPS and Ninja patches. If you have trouble patching with IPS, remember that the ROM should NOT have a header, and check the CRC32, since it’s a prototype game and doesn’t have a good checksum. Only issue setting it apart from a finished game is the music dies an ear-piercing death in the ending credits, but that seems to be an issue outside the patch.

The patch can also be obtained from RHDN’s Jelly Boy 2 page.

TheCheat v1.4 released!

07 October 2006 11:37PM EST - Update by Ryusui

Utilities News

After nearly a month of silence, TheCheat has finally been updated to version 1.4, complete with table support, Shift-JIS and EUC support and (limited) support for script formatting tags.

Sorry for the wait, people…I’ve been working on a mishmash of different projects, and TheCheat kinda got pushed to the back burner. Questions or comments? Send me a PM!

Wukong Waizhuan simplified

This is another patch release to convert more Taiwan-release Megadrive games to the characters used by the mainland. The latest game is Wukong Waizhuan (悟空外传). It’s a RPG sidestory based on the adventures of Sun Wukong from The Journey West (西游记).

The patch is only available in NINJA format and contains instructions on how to cut the 1.0MB ROM from the overdump currently available. I did not patch against the overdump because the overdump contains the entire ROM mirrored again, and that would have ended up in the unpatch data.

Download the patch

This patch uses the SongTi (新宋体) font instead of the chunky DOS fonts I used in the past. I’ve also updated my Fengshen Ying Jie Zhuan patch to use this font.

RHDN Going Down for Upgrades

02 October 2006 4:42PM EST - Update by Nightcrawler

Site News

This is an announcement that you may notice periods of time when the site is inaccessible or having intermittent connections. I plan on doing several semi-big server upgrades over the next few days whenever I have some spare time to do them. I may start as early as tonight. Read on for the details…

Some of the big upgrades that could attribute to problems with the site will of course be upgrading to the Apache 2 series webserver, PHP 5, and MySQL 5. We will also be undergoing a few security updates for other secondary software running here.

I will be updating the board topic associated with this update along the way. If you notice any issues or problems with the site, please report them there. If you can’t even reach the board, or there is catastrophic failure, don’t worry about reporting it because I will already know about that! ;)

Don’t worry, I’ve backed up the full contents of the server. In the event of catastrophic failure, I will restore the site as it was! So, let’s cross our fingers and hope I don’t screw it up!

OK, I’m being over dramatic. I don’t think we’ll have much trouble, but you never know and there’s always potential for minor headaches with server upgrades.

Jesus: Kyoufu no Bio Monster Translated

29 September 2006 4:15PM EST - Update by Pluvius

Translations News

A while back, a patch to translate the weirdly-named Famicom game Jesus: Kyoufu no Bio Monster into English was published by Niahak. (Before anyone gets upset, Jesus isn’t the name of the biomonster, but the space station headquarters for the game’s characters.) The most interesting thing about Jesus is that Enix was involved in its development, most notably contributing the musical talents of Koichi Sugiyama to the mix. The patch works great though space constraints make the text sketchy; a more verbose script is available here, in addition to a manual.

You can also get the patch here on RHDN.
