Spanish Translation for Dead Space Extraction Released
06 April 2010 11:32AM EST - Update by IlDucci
The Spanish translation for the game Dead Space Extraction for the Wii has been released.
All the text in the game has been translated, and the patching method selected is Riivolution, a system that allows players to use an original game copy for playing the translated game, rather than burning a modified backup in order to use it.
This translation only works with the PAL version but we are trying to find out if it works as well with the NTSC-U version. Enjoy.

Demo patch for Tales of Hearts released
05 April 2010 9:53AM EST - Update by Crowmeister
Quote from Kajitani-Eizan:
We are proud to present the Demo release for Tales of Hearts!
This release is intended to give a basic feel for the game and what the translation will be like. It covers approximately the first hour of the game and has the loading of save games disabled (this is a demo, after all). Please carefully read the readme for patching instructions and further notes.

Tactics Ogre complete!
01 April 2010 4:36AM EST - Update by Gideon Zhi
Tactics Ogre doesn’t really need much introduction. It’s basically the model for Final Fantasy Tactics, and is quite the impressive feat for the SNES. The plot is full of intrigue and branching paths, the gameplay is complicated and allows for lots of customization, the music is standard (amazing) Sakimoto material.
Every little task in this game was like pulling teeth. The simplest thing took hours, crashes kept popping up where there weren’t any before. It’s still not perfect, but it’s pretty damn good for what it is.
Get it at Aeon Genesis. Enjoy!
GoldenEye Gets a Little Darker
28 March 2010 9:18AM EST - Update by Dragonsbrethren
Wreck has released an early version of GoldenEye: X, an extensive project which will port GoldenEye 007 to Perfect Dark’s engine. This preview version is very early and has a lot of visual oddities, but gives a feel for what the port will be like. Eventually everything from GoldenEye, including the single player missions, will be ported to the enhanced engine. While there are no plans for any major upgrades visually, the engine has a number of improvements which will enhance the way the game plays. Many infamous limitations of the original guard AI, for example, will be a thing of the past. Multiplayer, which this preview showcases, will also benefit from the new engine–many new game modes, and much more customization than was possible in the original game is available.
Here is a list of what this preview patch contains:
- Phantom (first and third person models)
- Golden Gun (first and third person models)
- Timed, Proximity, and Remote Mines (third person models only)
- Hand Grenade (third person model only)
In addition to those, all of the “classic” weapons available in Perfect Dark, which were just renamed GoldenEye weapons, are still available with their original names. These weapons are available for selection in multiplayer now, and have been modified to allow simulants to use them.
- James Bond (Tuxedo) head and body
- Natalya (Russia) head and body
- Trevelyan (Janus) head and body
- Moonraker Elite body
- Joe 2 head (used by Moonraker Elite by default)
- Terrorist head
- Temple (GoldenEye original, not its classic counterpart)
Be forewarned that Temple, Library, and Caves do not have the path network needed to play them with simulants yet. Adding one should be pretty painless for future versions. Egyptian also has a single room (the one where you find the golden gun in solo) where sims cannot follow you and will not move if they spawn there.
- Library and Egyptian door models
- Body armor model (replaces shield model)
These are not the only ports that have been completed, but are the only ones included in the preview patch. Paired with the existing GoldenEye weapons, they allow you to have four players using GoldenEye characters and all six slots filled with a weapon from GoldenEye. Many Perfect Dark characters and weapons are still available, but they may have texture errors, and Perfect Dark heads do not fit on GoldenEye bodies properly and vice-versa. A limited number of weapons from Perfect Dark will likely be kept for the final version, filling the same role as the classic weapons originally did.
Click here for a video which shows a game against sims in Egyptian. You can get the patch from the GoldenEye Vault link below. It should be possible to play multiplayer online using this patch and the Mupen64k/Mupen64++ emulators, but it has not been tested at this time.
Tactics Ogre betatest begins.
27 March 2010 10:18AM EST - Update by Gideon Zhi
Aeon Genesis’s translation of Tactics Ogre has entered the playtesting phase. Things have come together pretty tightly, and barring any major issues it should be over shortly, with an actual release to follow soon. Fingers crossed!
(And no, you can’t get a copy of the beta, so don’t ask.)
Slayers Sees the Light of Day!
21 March 2010 10:58AM EST - Update by Draken
After eight years (to the exact day!) of intense labors by many - some tragic and others triumphant - Matt’s Messy Room and D-D are jointly announcing the penultimate closure of another success story. We are releasing Slayers English on its 8th anniversary - the final day of winter. Except for a few small details planned for our first update, Slayers is finished and 100% compatible with real hardware. Because older emulators do not appear to fully support this game, including the Japanese ROM, we are recommending BSNES as the emulator of choice.
The Slayers English translation project is the culmination of a joint effort between D-D and Matt’s Messy Room.
Grandia Spanish Translation Released!
14 March 2010 3:40PM EST - Update by saito
Spaniards rejoice! The Spanish translation of Grandia for the PSX is finished at last!
Please read the readme file for further details about compatibility. This is important because this game suffers a big RAM related problem when using emulators.
We hope that you enjoy this translation as much as we did!
Mario 64 Level Importer 0.8b
09 March 2010 6:18PM EST - Update by messiaen
From the same creator of “The Missing Stars” hack, this tool imports a Wavefront .obj file as the level mesh of any level in Super Mario 64.
- Replace any of the original levels
- Select available Object Banks
- Map textures to specific collision types
- Set “weather” effects (lava, snow, etc)
- Set global terrain types (slide, sand, snow)
- Set background graphics
- User-friendly interface with save/load settings feature
Textures with alpha are still not properly supported, but will be so in further updates. For best results, use 32×32 textures, other texture sizes might be mapped incorrectly.
